THT Going into the Draft

Haliburton and Conditt seem to fit that bill. Seems to me he's recruiting both. He's just not getting the same amount of instant impact transfers that Hoiberg did. But that was inevitable.

Haliburton and Conditt definetily fit the bill, however its now Year 5 and these are the first 2 that are 4 year high school players? Haliburton wont be here 4 years, so thats exactly one 4 year high school guy Prohm has produced in 5 years on the job here. Not good.

With THT gone I think our success next year hinges on what LW does here in the next couple weeks. Next year's roster as it stands right now without any top grad transfers is a roster that Im not confident we win very many games with.

Prohm has already went 9-9 and 10-8 with his 2 most talented teams, next year could get extremely ugly, there is no way we are a tournament team, and you are looking at a 6-12, 5-13 type season.

This might surprise you but we play more than 18 games every season. If you're going to go that route at least give him credit for his 12-6 season

While Final Four is a tremendous accomplishment, as a fan I will not accept a dumpster fire. Prohm and this program should be good enough to reload, beat the TOE, be a threat to win the Big 12 regular season and tournament, and get into the tourney as a top six seed every year.

That just shows you what you can do with a Top 5 NBA pick, a couple frontcourt transfers, and one of the best coaches in the game, unfortunately Iowa State has none of the above.

Is this kind of stuff really necessary? Let's say he is a career G League player, just for the sake of argument. Why not then go get an NBA deal while you can? Get on an NBA contract at least, and save yourself the Naz/Georges/Deonte route of spending 2-3 years having to earn an NBA check with no guarantees?

And if he is going to be an NBA player he can develop into that places other than Iowa State.

The money is there, and I think he's wise to go.

You can't blame the kid. He is going to get drafted in the 1st round (if the speculation is correct) and get guaranteed money. That would mean he is one of the top 30(ish) players in the draft. How much is that stock really going to rise if he comes back to ISU? Could he get to the top 20? Sure. But the better bet would be him having some set back next year (i.e. Wiggington) and would have ruined his chance. Good time for him leave and good luck to him.

Next year will be the make or break year for me with prohm. I have been critical of him already, but he got us to the tournament as a 6 seed. He needs to make the tournament again next year. I personally think he does because I feel this current freshman class isn't going to have losing seasons. I think we will see Conditt take a big step forward as a leader and I expect Lewis to make a jump forward as well. No inside information, just gut feelings.

I'm not going to say i expect them to win the regular season, but i do think its fair to expect us not to be a dumpster fire in any year.

Leech, Jackson and Anderson have already signed coming off the one rebuild year ISU has had. The staff is in good position off this year with a number of highly regarded prospect and now see the potential of early entry in the NBA ISU can offer this summer to get the next class.
While this past year could have ended up better, the staff can still sell being ranked much of the year, Big 12 championship and a 6 seed NCAA team.

Two guys outside the top 150 and one who we are hoping recovers from a major injury to play at his prior levels. If we are counting on major contributions from this group next year the I don't see us in the dance next year. I should also note that I am in the camp of LW being gone no matter what.

Hey, I hope he gets drafted in the first round. I dont think there is any chance in hell, but I could be wrong. I do think he will end up in the g-league and that may be the best route for him. It is becoming more and more legitimate as a development league.
