I guess Iowa's collapse will start in March this year...

Yeah, that Penn State team that beat Northwestern 59-52 on Monday, IN Evanston...they’re a real doozy. I’m sure glad ISU doesn’t have them coming up on their schedule.

Every league has teams at the top of it- at the end of the season they call them champions. My point is, IA didn’t beat any of those teams this week.

No, but they beat Michigan the previous week. Its probably the deepest league in the country right now. So, it's kind of silly to pick at winning two close conference games, including a tough road win vs a motivated Indiana team that's capable of beating anyone. (Michigan State, Marquette, Louisville) Northwestern came to play, shot lights out and Iowa still managed to find a way to win.

1-9 in their last 10 Indiana?

Penn State needs to fire him too. It’s mind boggling how he’s still got a job.

Based on his striking a player, yes, not a good look. Based on his record and the resources he has to work with and lack of tradition, it becomes who are they going to get? But, along your point, he has been there quite a few years with not much to show. Northwestern needs to take the Barta philosophy and keep Collins because who will they get that's better? It's about knowing how big your stick is- when Michigan needs to replace Beilein, they have their pick. Iowa's three hires since TD:

-Slick Alford- from a mid-major
-Lickliter- from a mid-major
-Francon- from a mid-major

Iowa drops to 113 in adjusted defense in KenPom with today’s showing. Any one have an idea who the most successful NCAA tourney was with a sub-100 rating? Even Hoiberg teams hung around the 60s.

That "deepest league in the country" will see 2-4 coaches fired in March (Miles and Chambers for sure) and Pitino and Miller will enter next year on the hottest of seats (Pitino will probably leave ahead of the posse this spring).

Alford and Lickliter were both hot commodities at the time. Lickliter may have been NCAA coach of the year prior to being hired at Iowa. We all know how that turned out. Fran has the 2nd most wins in Iowa history.

I don't know how accurate it is, but I read on an Arizona message board that one team outside the top 100 has made the Final Four. I do not see any Dwyane Wade types on their team.
