I guess Iowa's collapse will start in March this year...

LW isn’t getting drafted by the NBA this year..ain’t happening. His injury truly hurt..but what hurts even more is his play. He needed to show improvement this year not regression..

Cook is gone..he ain’t returning to Iowa for his Sr year.

Still a lot of season left to say something won't happen 5 months from now.

He's even sort of puffy like Rudy.

Wieskamp didn't play from like 4 minutes left in the first quarter to like 10 mins left in the 2nd. Not sure why Fran benches his best player for 40% of a game

If you want to know the true state of Iowa basketball, consider this. Riley Till has played in four straight games in the heart of the conference schedule.

That's Riley Till on the right. Actually, he looks more like a basketball player than starting point guard Jorbo.

They just watched the video of Kriener pretending to get fouled.

Well, imo you’re overrating how he played last year and/or overstating his struggles this year. Aside from defense, he’s not that far off from last year in shooting, and better in some other aspects of offense.

More importantly, my contention was qualified by saying a strong finish. If you take his current level of play and add a strong finish, he’s getting drafted and we’re going on a great run.

To be fair, his box score was almost identical to Connors (and Jorbo's) last night. He was struggling.

A lot of this was the way Minny defended Iowa. They played both Cook and Garza straight up man without double teaming and didn't let Iowa beat them from three. I think Iowa may have gotten a little exposed offensively last night. Sure Garza was really good last night but you can only rely on him for short stretches, especially if the other team can push tempo.

Iowa was still 10-18 from three, but I agree with you that they didn't let Wieskamp or Bohannon beat them. One attempt between the two.

The latest Sports Illustrated projection:

(1) Tennessee vs. (16) Sam Houston State/Norfolk State
(8) Nebraska vs. (9) Cincinnati
(5) Villanova vs. (12) Arizona State/UCF
(4) Louisville vs. (13) Hofstra
(6) Iowa vs. (11) Murray State
(3) Kansas vs. (14) Northern Kentucky
(7) NC State vs. (10) St. John's
(2) Michigan vs. (15) Montana

Please oh please, basketball Gods, let Ja Morant against Iowa's guards happen. It would be glorious.

If they have Iowa still as a 6 we’ve gotta be like a 2 seed.

Still unbelievable that they can be on the verge of getting blown out in a game Iowa shoots 56% from three

And 55% overall.

And would have been housed without the "bench get in there and slow things down" strategy.

Iowa’s offense got exposed in a game in which they scored 87 points? The hottest of hot takes.

I thought the same thing, but figured I would let them have their fun. Once again, Iowa's success or lack thereof will always be hinged on the defensive side of the ball.

Interesting scenario but what happens if Iowa gets to 10 or 11 wins without beating a B1G team that has a .500 or better record? How would that be anything close to a tournament worthy resume?
