I guess Iowa's collapse will start in March this year...

What about Wiggington coming back for his Junior year?
I’d say there is a better chance Cook is back. All Wigginton needs to get drafted is a strong final month of the season, at which point the perceived struggles will be attributed to coming off an injury and being a team player.

I think the biggest knock I would have on Fran if I was an Iowa fan is not the recruiting, subbing, etc., but rather that no one seems to get better. All of his players seem to regress on a year-to-year basis. Who on that roster now can you look at and say has made a significant jump in terms of their ability? Maybe Moss? Garza is playing well but doing what he's always done. I just can't remember anyone in the last 5 or so years who really progressed from their freshman to senior year. Maybe Jok?

So, according to Hawk message boards, quite a few of their fans have turned on Cook. I think that's a little misguided, but so be it. I'm guessing he's gone at the end of the year.
Haven't read their comments, but I was thinking this myself actually. I've only seen 2 games and caught either highlights or updates on here with how the hawks have been doing. But yesterday they seemed so much more cohesive while Cook and JorBo were on the bench. the Hawks played some of their best, most consistent basketball of the season when Cook was out. He is the best basketball player on their team, but not sure he makes their team better.

Have no idea. Whether he stays his senior year or not, I feel he will be playing ball over seas. Nothing wrong with that. Just depends on how much he values a college degree.

Interesting to speculate on these two player scenarios. I'm just an amateur, but don't think either are a def top 60 NBA draft - at this point. Still some time to get scouts attention. It wouldn't surprise me to see Cook return; I think Wiggs is gone.

Wigginton being around for another year would be surprising.

Although he's not exactly having a monster year but that could change.

Just not sure where he fits in the NBA game.

It’s tough to win on the road in the Big Ten...such a difficult conference from top to bottom. No gimmes outside the KenPom Top 100 in the Big Ten- the only conference in America where that is the case.

Home teams in conference play in the big 10 win 59% of the time, which is 18th out of the 32 conferences. Big 12 is 65%, ranked 10th.

Still a bunch of winnable games, Rutgers x2, Hoosiersx2 and NW. SHOULD win 4/6, I think they get 5/6. The split with Mich/Terps and the tourney is a lock. Even road to trips to Wisky and Nebraska aren't too daunting. Easily 5 more wins out there, if it plays out like it looks, they should get a favorable match up in Chicago for the BTT.
Iowa caught a break Saturday when Nebraska’s Copeland went down with a season ending ACL They had been decent at home, but Ne doesn’t have the depth to replace him. The last game now changes from a probable Nebraska win to an Iowa win.

It wouldn’t suprise me if they beat Michigan. It’s also hard to believe they only play them once and it’s at home

I wonder how many points Garza has to score to be a net positive for how much he gives up on the other end

It's still a road game. The Hawks have only won 3 times on the road in the Big 10 this season and last.

If you want to know the true state of Iowa basketball, consider this. Riley Till has played in four straight games in the heart of the conference schedule.

That's Riley Till on the right. Actually, he looks more like a basketball player than starting point guard Jorbo.

LW isn’t getting drafted by the NBA this year..ain’t happening. His injury truly hurt..but what hurts even more is his play. He needed to show improvement this year not regression..

Cook is gone..he ain’t returning to Iowa for his Sr year.
