After watching Iowa play about 5 games this year, I agree, they are not a horrible team, but they have a glaring lack of decent guard play. The whole backcourt is made up of #2 guards that can be decent shooters, but no one on the roster that can take anyone one on one and make a play.
They continue get abused by quicker guards that can get into the lane and either take it too the hope or drive and dish. They have no rim protector to block shots. McCaffery's kid just cannot play at this level, and the Bohannan kid a nothing but a 3 point shooter. Moss has about 4 games a year, like he played tonight, and against ISU where he could not miss from the outside. Otherwise he sucks.
One would think that after nine years, getting toasted by poor guard play would make a coach recruit a guard or two that can run the point, but Fran keeps going after forwards and centers, and relying on slow, non athletic kids at the most critical position of the bb floor.
Moss is shooting 46% from 3 this season. I think it’s time to stop trotting out the “he only shoots well a couple times per year” schtick. Other than that, this is what most Iowa fans (and the few objective Iowa State fans) have been saying for the last year plus.

Moss is decent, point guard is your issue. Jbo sucks if he's not shooting well and mccaffery can pass and play defence but is a serious offensive liability.
He was shooting 37.5% prior to this 4 game run. He'll come back down to earth.
37.5% is still pretty good, and does not warrant a disclaimer that he only shoots well a couple games per year, IMO.
Iowa’s d rating on kenpom has gone from 94 to 126 in two games. Not trending well.
The emotional meltdown on the hok forums is in full force. Lots of name-calling, tears and jealousy. The cruel truth for baby brother is a NIT berth is their only post season option. It's truly hilarious. Maybe they will get a home date for the NIT. I'm sure they will have to give out lots of free tickets. Hoklowns.
They want to be us so bad, but they just can’t ever get to our level. They are jealous of our recruiting and our success on the court. Then in the end, all they have is scoreboard 98-84 smack talk about a meaningless non conf game in December that they won, when in reality Iowa States goals and aspirations were always set much much higher.
Pass more than play defence, still dont know how he was considered a 4 star or was that his little brother.

Even with the win this year he's only 3-6 vs ISU, looking down the barrel at 3-7 his superbowl next year.
Born and raised in iowa. Was it a grammatical error? I pretty much suck at language arts.
