Pretty sure he’s saying if Iowa plays disconnected on defense, it’s expected they’ll probably lose the game. Not that they expected to lose in Minneapolis.
My favorite part was Fran basically subbing the whole team to send the starters a message.

And this was just after he tried the sweet crossover drive to the bucket ala THT. Only difference was Cook threw in a nice drop kick off his right foot.
Here’s my thing with this. This isn’t a terrible team. And if this team can be on the cusp (though usually on the outside looking in) like they are, then I worry they could actually be good if they got a coach that can actually recruit and coach a little. Hopefully Barta locks Fran up for another 10 years for his valiant effort against the Gophers.
And for the record. There is not a bball player. Ever. Anywhere. That is more different from MM.
They aren't awful. They should make the tourney. If I were an Iowa fan, the potential was definitely not reached.
To clarify, I meant in Fran’s entire tenure. More often than not they’re on the bubble or in. So if they can do that consistently with how ****** of a recruiter Fran is and how ****** of a game day coach he is, it worries me what the program could do if they ever actually dumped him for even a halfway competent coach.
Good thing that they won't dump him for a while.

Iowa just makes me feel bad about myself. It is a bad personality trait to take joy in the suffering of others, but I can't help myself.
It’s tough to win on the road in the Big Ten...such a difficult conference from top to bottom. No gimmes outside the KenPom Top 100 in the Big Ten- the only conference in America where that is the case.
