All Iowa Football Team---Post Bowl Edition

Who will be throwing to them? Stanley is a senior next year, isn't he?

Mansell or Petras. Agree with above and think it'll be Petras but Mansell was second in line this past season. Padilla coming in '19 looks like a winner and I really like the 4* Hogan kid coming from Texas in '20.

Purdy/Stanley a tossup. Purdy was good most of the season but was bad in the last two games he played. Stanley was up and down during the season and then tore up the best defense in the country. Tough call.

You know in the defense optional big 12 I never saw a blown coverage that came close to the one that accounted for over 1/3 of Stanley's output on the day. In fact, I rarely saw receivers running wild and open like I saw MSU's. Fortunately for Iowa that's the worst passing QB and WRs ability to catch a pass ever assembled in organized football.

Agree, awesome play. MSU's D hadn't allowed a play over 50 yards all year until that one.

Won't expect much out of the TEs in 2019 but the following year Lee and Miamen will hopefully be ready to step in. Those two are going to be studs.
I'm just going to assume some former 195 lb QB from some 2A school in Iowa is going to come in and put up 800 yards and 9 TDs at the TE position next year for Iowa. I will believe Iowa doesn't get much from the TE position in a season when I see it.

That was a great double move by Easley. Wait, make that running in a straight line at 4.74 seconds per 40 yards. Just a high level of execution on both sides. In this case extreme explosive athleticism we come to expect from an Iowa HS product beat out tremendous, high IQ defensive play we have all come to expect from products of the state of Mississippi.

Agree but don't forget to credit BF as well. Had been sucking them in on the run and burned them bad on the play action. Perfect call.

Not even selling the PA on that play. Just absolutely terrible, dumb defense. If he would've went for the full on Rudock PA like your life depends on it I'd give it to you.

I think it really just comes down to Big 12 teams need to start landing some WRs with Easley's explosiveness. That's pretty sick speed to just run in a straight line with a half-assed play fake and just torch somebody by 25 yards. Until then, QBs in the Big 12 are going to have throw into some windows. Some day, Big 12, some day.

I do think Parker deserves a lot of credit for having Gervase allow a good 5-6 yards of separation in the endzone on that interception. He must've seen something on film that led him to know the MSU WR was likely to suffer a stroke at the moment the ball arrived and temporarily lose use of his arms. That's next level detail and prep, so hats off to Parker and Gervase. As great as Heacock is, I don't think he would've had the foresight to do that.

Yeah our offense definitely puts defenses on their heels, even the best D in the country. And while that was a sweet play by Gervase you also gotta give credit to Stone for tipping the pass and throwing the WR's timing off. Jake being right there to snag it was sweet.

Stone did a great job of tipping that pass.

Did you not watch Iowa State’s game against Oklahoma State? At least a half dozen of Iowa State’s completions were to wide open receivers resulting from blown coverage.

I saw Purdy’s “highlight video” that you linked somewhere, which consisted of a handful of nice plays and 3+ minutes of Purdy throwing passes to wide open receivers.

At least 6 of the passes were blown coverage on that highlight video?
