I guess Iowa's collapse will start in March this year...

There really isn't any indication out there for its fans that says Iowa basketball is relevant. Unfortunately for them, it isn't anywhere near bad enough to force a change.

Too bad for them!

Couldn't happen to a better fan base.

I think I am rooting for Hoks today though. We want them to be right on the bubble this year. Can't fire him but they aren't going anywhere. Should work for next 5 years as Patrick plays out.

They're not firing Fran no matter what happens this year

It could be a very tough year next year if they lose Cook. He's a rare case where he is improving every year. JBo is getting the same minutes and regressing by comparison.

Side note, Oregon lost at home last night to powerhouse Oregon State. Iowa's three "resume building" wins besides Iowa State all lost at home yesterday. Not a good look for Iowa.

Their season is already a success no matter what happens going forward. Fran isn't going anywhere.

Lol, my favorite part of that thread is when someone said maybe Hoiberg would take an assistant job as a recruiter under Fran. Pure comedy.

Those jobs are reserved for Patrick and Connor anyway, just 2 years for Connor to take that gig.

Hope Iowa losses today, but really I expect them to win verses Nebraska and then go on and win around 7 conferences games. I have said before, Iowa has some nice parts, but for them to win, they all have to be playing well together, all at the same time. That is what happened when ISU went to the Morgue. Playing at home to one of their 3 sold out crowds of the season, Iowa came out, Moss hit his first 4 shots from 3, Bear comes in and started knocking down 3's and ISU was in trouble. Pemsl gave them an emotional lift by taking the floor. We struggled to keep up and were not at full strength. Its one game, not the season, and we have moved on, Iowa has gone the other way.

What do they need resume builders for? I thought the NIT automatically took any P5 team with at least a .500 record?

Conner would be an OK backup at 5 minutes a half, and I am not sold on Patrick, he is rail thin, and I googled his age, he will be 19 on March 20th, so he is a year older than every kid he is competing against. Most guys have a huge maturity/physical growth that year out of HS. Patrick is still in HS, so this is it for him.

Is Garza playing today? He might provide just enough resistance to beat Nebraska if he plays. The next 4 games are going to make or break their season, if they get destroyed at Penn State and Northwestern again this year its over.

I do know Kriener is good to go to play today so they should be fine

Garza is actually a pretty effective half court player. He's further than I expected him to be.

Yeah, hes decent, and he's awkward enough to just be annoying and get under other players skin on defense. Plus, he's the only one besides Cook who plays with any physicality.
