Iowa Football Recruiting

I thought Iowa only offered to those that they were sure were coming.

No, Iowa offers who they want and have a shot at, Wolf wants to play with his HS friend on the basketball team and wants to play both sports. Not hard to follow that logic.

Iowa offers hoping to land about 15% of the kids they offer

ISU offers hoping to land about 7% of the kids they offer

As of right now, Iowa has put together a solid class in 247 with a 35 rank. Not great, but I will take it. ISU is not far behind at 42 rank.

If they really pulled an offer to Jirehl Brock Ferentz is dumber than I thought. He's an elite level talent

That’s because Goodson commited before Brock did and at the time, they were only taking one RB. That’s recruiting ::shrugs::

ISU has two all conference TE's on their roster and had better LB's and DB's than Iowa this last year. Is this serious?

If a recruit was to look at success at the next level or for winning awards, what would be the most obvious choice? After all, the goal for college ball is to get to that next level. No contest with those positions I listed.

You're not making any sense. Let's look at LB's for example. ISU had 3 LB's this year that were better than anyone you had. How could you say any decent HS LB could get playing time at ISU with that being the case?

You never know. Goodson will get the opportunity to play an easier schedule year in and year out. I'm just as excited for Breece as I am Brock even though Brock is rated higher

Iowa also wanted Breece. I think he will be a good one too. I think Brock will also be pretty good so do not get me wrong. I just dont think it is going to crush Iowa like some think it will that they moved on from Brock after the commit of Goodson early on.

It makes perfect sense. For recruiting it is all about the sell. Selling that ISU was better than Iowa for a year at the LB position when 2 of the 3 starters from Iowa in 2017 made NFL rosters is kinda grasping at straws here.
