Big 4 Classic didn't work because it's lame. It's Des Moines guys, come on. It's a nice place to be from, but you wouldn't want to live there.
Kind of related, I was back for Thanksgiving and the D-town news personalities are the B-team. Talk about space dogs!

Been decades since I lived and worked in Des Moines (R.I.P. Smith-Voorhees-Jensen Associates). I don't recall the people there being such huge dickheads. Guess times have changed some.

I hates watching TV in Des Moines. I hates it so much I hope ISU is in Duke’s pod in South Carolina or Gonzaga’s pod in Salt Lake City. ISU needs to play more NCAA road games since Des Moines sucks so much
In a word, yes. The Well is primarily built for hockey and indoor football.
That would take yet another interesting game out of the season ticket package. I want more home games, not less. I want to reap the benefits of my Cyclone Club donation such as great seats, reserved parking, Johnny's and Stage Door.
Half of the court was blocked from view by the handicapped seating platform at the first ISU game I attendeda at WFA. I asked to be moved and got crappy seats in the back corner of the end. At least I could see, but I paid for better seats than that.
TV for thet event is a joke. Not a single bar we could find on Court Ave or really anywhere else near Wells Fargo had the game on because they were all DirecTV bars. I think this event was a good idea, and they tried to model it after Indiana, but fact is the National media never really cared, and that hurt ISUs exposure.

This is correct. The things they really look for include capacity, amenities for teams and NCAA staff and the ability of the hosting entity to put on a quality event. They are also looking at whether the host metro has the infrastructure (hotels, restaurants, night life) to support the event. Whether the fans have the best view of the game is probably tertiary at best. As long as television viewers can see the game they really don't care.
