Not really. You seem to be one of a very few who see it that way. Look, I get that you're a DSM homer...but not every venue there is perfect for every event, not everything that happens in the city is "the best ever", and not everything needs to continue in perpetuity.Just a lot of revisionist recent history going on here. Besides, CW asked the question, not me.
I wouldn't watch Iowa play in my living room if i was paid $30.00.The topic of my daily minute on Facebook but thought it could be a good forum talker.
My guess is the ticket deal: Most clone fans don't want to pay double the price to watch Iowa and UNI .... am I right?
What do you think Mr. Connolly is going to say..."this event blows"? Dan McCarney use to declare victory for playing good in the third quarter even though the scoreboard said ISU lost, okay? You need to let this go or before you know it, you are going to start blaming the people who had the audacity to move to the suburbs for ending this event. No, Chris Connolly who manages Wells Fargo declares it a successful event. They hate to lose this.
Make it an actual tournament.
Iowa v UNI - since they’re the same fans
ISU v Drake
Both single session games on a Saturday.
Winners and Losers games on Sunday.
Pretty sure having a true tournament would be problematic. It might count as the one tournament teams are allowed to have.

Unaware of the one tournament rule. Then yeah blow it up, and no more games on the road at UNI or Drake.Pretty sure having a true tournament would be problematic. It might count as the one tournament teams are allowed to have.
I don't think an actual tournament would make sense. You could make it a two day event with Iowa State and Iowa each playing Drake and UNI.
But, why?
Back to square one.
If people want somebody to blame, blame the hawks. They are the ones who quit it.
Did EIU ever state a reason for why they were opting out of it?
