Kleiman will join Patterson as the only head coaches that were strictly defensive coaches. Rhule at Baylor is unique in that he once was a defensive assistant but then switched sides and coached on the offensive side for many years.

I don't know how any guy that is already 65 can tell a junior in high school, "Commit to me cause I will be there in 2025 for your RS Senior year!" There is what, a 1% chance that will actually happen? Maybe .5%? At least someone like Kleiman there is a realistic hope he might still be there 7 years from now.

KU has already landed the former Auburn OC and kept their best recruiting assistant. Kansas now has massive recruiting ties in SEC country. Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Alabama and Georgia. They are also already landing the best in-state recruits now too.

KU will be in a bowl game next year and will be in a good position to land their long term coach when Miles decides he is done 3-5 years from now.

I'll go with neither. I hope they are both disastrous picks.
Yeah - here's hoping that Klieman is equivalent to Terry Allen's days @ KU (no disrespect intended to this fine gentleman & his son!), and Miles is equivalent to Tuberville @ TTU. I could totally go for that. And, while we are wishing for things to happen - here's hoping that Rhule will be called back to a nice gig in the NFL & Baylor makes a mistake in their next FB hire (that would be too good to be true).

I don't see any chance you get to 6 wins next year: https://kuathletics.com/schedule.aspx?schedule=479
I'm seeing 4 tops if you can beat KSU and Coastal Carolina

Chizek had not been a head coach at any level prior to going to ISU. I have no idea why some of you keep trying to make this comparison.
You are right!! I verified the info below from the following site: https://groveslaw.net/#

Zachary S. Chizek currently resides in Webster City, Iowa, where he is an Attorney with the Groves & Chizek Law Office. Zachary joined the firm in March 2014, after previously practicing law in West Des Moines, Iowa. His primary areas of focus are on estate planning and probate, real estate matters, and business services. He is also the City Attorney for Webster City, Stratford, and Woolstock.
Zachary has a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Iowa State University and a Juris Doctorate from Drake University Law School. While attending law school, Zachary obtained his Business Law Certificate, was the Vice President of the Drake University Law School Student Bar Association, a recipient of the Drake University Law School Student Bar Association President's Student Service Award, and was an Associate of the Blackstone American Inn of Court. He is also a member of the Hamilton County Bar Association and the Iowa State Bar Association.

Yep - no mention of previous head coaching experience.

I think as far as an initial, win the press conference thing it is Miles. But I don't know if either will have great success at their schools.
I hope you are joking. In all honesty if anyone watched it and walked away happy they are whack in the head. Les came across as recently(like that day) of having a stroke or he was drunk. Either way that press conference was a fiasco.

Doesn't matter to me. They could have hired Saban or Kelly. Don't give a crap so long as the Cyclones keep curb-stomping them. And the baby brother hok clowns.

So THAT is why he was able to stay out of jail when the Cam payment scheme came to light.

I haven't seen it. But what I am talking about is the flash and weight of the hire. Les Miles is head and shoulders above Klieman as far as clout and track record in major division one football.

We will wait and see what he does. Last I saw KU had one commit for this recruiting class, so unless things have changed a lot in the last 2 weeks, Les is way behind for this year. (247 has them with 2 commits and ranked 156th in the country right now)

As for a bowl game next year, the chances are very slim. KU was better this year, but they also had a bunch of senior starters. Their star running back could be in serious trouble. Add to that the usual attrition and adjustments that everyone has with a new coaching staff and it is hard to see KU getting to 6 wins.
