I think Young finds his place quickly....the one that's interesting is Wigginton...be interesting to see if he's primarily at the 1 or 2 and how the minutes shake out. If you get all the pieces back you'll be able to go small or big. Will need a bigger lineup against KU. It's going to be interesting to see how Prohm handles all the pieces.

Wiggy will be tough. The concern in these situations is always does a guy spend the whole year trying to prove NBA teams that their weaknesses aren't that weak. Now Wiggy's year is compressed into 1/2 a year. I really think we have a good core, but I am slightly concerned about he and Shayok trying to make sure they get their numbers.

It'll be on Prohm to manage that and I think he can. If that becomes an issue Prohm has guys...Haliburton, Tally, NB....that he can sit them and get his point across. He's not in a situation where he has to keep them on the floor.

Honestly, I don't think it'll be an issue. My show it's head from time to time but like I said...Prohm has enough on the bench where he can simply take them off the floor if he see's that. Nothing gets a point across better than sitting on the bench.

Congrats to the hawkeyes, they needed it and deserved it. I know our squad will get it figured out, but still some wrinkles that need ironing out. Freshman will become more composed as the season and more P5 environments pop up on the schedule. I have no doubt Prohm will make this a learning moment and hopefully it gives our team the shock it needs to realize it isn't where it needs to be yet.

This is my sentiment as well. A lot of energy from Iowa last night. Definitely deserved the W.

Hahahahaha, there it is! Like clockwork. Hedge all of your bets, predict Iowa to win, ask for credit.
It's impossible to be wrong when you hedge bets like you do.
Prediction, CyTwins picks Iowa to win the next football game (like he did this year) and the next basketball game at Carver (like he did this year). In the meantime he'll spend all day, every day talking about how awful Iowa is and how great ISU is. Make sense?

I'll predict ISU to win in basketball next year. Hilton > Super Bowl factor

You do know that ISU could still be a better team than Iowa and lose the head to head, correct? It's basketball, **** happens.
 
Mid major players will always ball out against the instate school that didn't offer. Watch as Iowa struggles to make .500 in the B1G and settles for another play-in slot in the tourney. It's like clockwork.

They absolutely could, I'm not disputing that. Last night wasn't even competitive come second half so you'll have your work cut out though.

If Fran is still at Iowa in two years and if Kirk is still at Iowa next year I will predict them to win due to the emphasis they put on the game. I mean you guys pulled a medical redshirt off a player just so he could go against us

Haha, of course you will, and then ask for credit afterward and claim to not troll.

You can claim this if Pemsl doesn't play again after this, but that won't be the case.

I couldn't care less if Pemsl plays after this or not. The fact Joe played and you pulled the medical redshirt off Pemsl for a non conference game was very telling on the importance your program puts on getting to play Iowa State

I do? Better get back in the gym then. I gave the Hawks all the credit for last night, look at my post. But, on your original comment, 80% of your fans were talking about how awful Iowa was leading up to this game. It's not just Twins and Cyclones Fans. Hawkeyes played inspired and it propelled them to a win. But, if you think that team ISU fielded last night is going to be the team you're watching at the end of the year, you either don't watch much basketball or only watch hawkeye basketball.

I agree actually. I think ISU has a much higher ceiling than Iowa does. Can Prohm make them realize their potential is the question.

BTW, I said the same thing after the end of the wrestling meet last saturday. Iowa will be a much better wrestling team come March than they were last saturday.

Lol your rationale. ISU has never lost a game by most ISU rationale, 99% of the time it's the refs but now it's because a player rolled an ankle the game before and another player who sat out a few games prior and came back healthy for the ISU game (nevermind the fact that he's our 8th or 9th man).

ISU lost last night. Iowa wanted it more and won. Not sure what you're getting at

B1G is definitely a meat grinder. If we can finish 11-0 OOC and somehow get to 10-10 in the B1G we will have a shot at the tourney. B1G schedule doesn't do us many favors this year so it'll be tough. Wisconsin loss really hurt in that regard.

For ISU.....need to win the rest of the OOC.....Drake is tougher than expected but I think you guys win that....@Mississippi could be tough....don't think they have a very good home court. You guys probably need 10-8 in the B12,
