Graham Couch: Iowa Basketball is a mid-major roster

Niang is currently in the G League, Burton has only gotten “rotational minutes” when all of OKC’s other wings have been injured/sick, and Nader has played in a non-blowout situation once all year.
Said troll is now following the NBA careers of ex-ISU players.

Please tell me again how you aren't obsessed with Iowa State.

So far, Jacobson has been as consistently impressive as anyone on either team. It is not like he went off for 50 one game, and 6 the next. Not sure what the reason was he was marginal at Nebraska. I see no reason for him to regress as the season goes on. His total numbers may go down as the season goes on, but that will be because Lard and others become available to play more minutes.

Jacobson’s not going to shoot 64% from the field and 39% from 3 over the course of the season. I can promise you that.

Derp. I play NBA DFS and thus have a pretty good understanding of every player in the NBA that plays meaningful minutes.

Then you'd agree that he's only been activated for 10 games, Coming back from an injury (5 of which he did not play), and will more than likely continue to get more than 4 minutes a game..

But, you seem up to speed and knowledgeable on this stuff so who knows, you may be right in the end.

Please tell me what you take issue with in that post?

Jacobson was terrible at Nebraska: true

Jacobson’s shooting proficiency is unsustainable and will likely regress over the remainder of the season: true

You are such a small, angry little person, Mikey.

You are a moron. There is nothing factual in what you post.

Jacobson was a 6 and 6 guy, part of the regular rotation for a big 10 team. He wasn’t terrible at Nebraska. If you think that then you have to think every single post player at Iowa has been ******* too.

So what is your graduate degree going to be in you liar?

You can't blame someone for questioning your basketball knowledge when you don't even understand the simple turnover percentage metric

First true road game of the year, no Wigginton or Young, and Iowa will probably be fired up. I don't have a great feeling about our game with them.

He shot less than 40% from the field. As a post player. He was awful.

Are you talking about Nader? I don’t think he’s going to play much at all.

He has shot very well, and that will probably go down as teams actually figure out that he can score, but the kid really hustles and has a very nice baseline jumper. If anything he has struggled at the FT line a bit based on the other stats. I have no explanation for what happen to make him better, but he has been incredibly consistent. It is a nice problem to have.

@CyTwins @benjimill

To be fair, 25 attempts is a pretty small sample size. Statiscally, it is not until around 50 attempts does your sample size become adequate to discern some value. It is not until a sample size of 750 that we can state something with some certainty (p<0.05). https://github.com/SportsTribution/StatsStabilization

Iowa should be a pretty good 3 point shooting team based on data from previous years of individual players. At the moment, it appears Dailey, McCaffery, and Kreiner are shooting a bit many 3s to bring down the team average.

So Prohm greatly improved his shot like he's done for so many others? Shocking what a good coach can do

Sure, Prohm seems to be a pretty good coach. Doesn’t change the fact that Jacobson was terrible at Nebraska. I don’t know why you guys are fighting this so hard- if anything, it shows you have a good coach who is able to develop players.

He's obviously ironed his shot out though... I'm not sure why you are so hung up on his past statistics. Between Jacobson having a great start and Shayok blowing up your "I'm glad you burnt 2 years of scholarship on him" theory, I can see why you are frustrated.

Did I say you did? Can you only answer questions based on comments that you’ve made or are you capable of taking an easy one out of the air?

Why are you bringing up Aaron White when it is completely irrelevant to the conversation?
