If the best you have is ISU played like **** and won I'm not sure you really have much. If what's been done lately is important to you surely a 7-1 run is better than 5-3? Each team did not go into that game under the same circumstances. Everyone ought to be able to acknowledge that. Regardless, the hawks won that week. This is what is interesting: Each person can view how good a team is by head to head and/or by how they improved.
Take USC last year. 1-3 before putting Darnold in. Rattled off 9 straight wins, including a bowl win over Penn St and damn near made the playoff w 3 loses. AT worst, many people thought they were a top 4 team because they said once Darnold was in, the team changed.
1. If you ignore the fact that teams can get better or worse than a given game, your inability to grasp concepts would be embarrassing, especially because it is only to prop up your over rated football team.
2. If you do acknowledge teams can get better as the year goes or change in QB or def scheme, etc. Then it is reasonable to assume that ISU w/ Purdy now is better than the sputtering hawkeyes team.
