Cyclones Ranked 24th

.....and you guys dodged a bullet when the “Word” made the playoffs

Iowa was the beneficiary of playing a team that didn't have one game played yet. It really worked out best for Iowa as ISU was hamstrung and Iowa benefited. I just wish Iowa would have done more with their chance to have a great season coming out of pre-conf unscathed.

Interesting from Halsted. Lots of variables.

That's kind of what I expect. I bet Campbell pads the lead a little bit and then it will be a mix of second string seniors and Fr/So.

At the beginning of the year you're trying to get some snaps for the starters, but with this game being the last one there's not much to gain by playing your starters any more than you have to.

When this game was first announced I was like WTF?!?

I have changed my mind about it though. Can you imagine how jacked the Drake kids are for this game? An opportunity of a lifetime and pretty much the icing on the cake pursuing their dream of playing college football. If someone did a poll of the Drake players....every last one of them would say "Hell yes!!!" if they were asked if they wanted to play this game. With having to fill this slot after "The word" dropped out I really don't see a problem with scheduling Drake and when passing judgement I think the Drake players thoughts on the subject should be taken into account....and like I said, I think they're "all in".

There is no way Drake can win this game but....I wouldn't be shocked if they didn't put up a fight...at least initially. This will be a hard game for the ISU guys to get up for....the starters at least, I think the subs will be amped up to get some snaps.

I just see Drake flying around giving their all for a bit and making it tougher for ISU than should be possible. The mental aspect is so huge in CFB that I think they can compete better than even I'm giving them credit for.....

It'll still be a comfortable ISU win....I just see Drake competing better than expected.

Disagree. Especially at the end of the year. They may have some excitement at the beginning but by now I see almost none. My brother played football at Drake and his quote was "I'm glad it's not me out there". This will be a very blah game unless you like ISU putting up stats.

Campbell not having his team ready to play isn't Iowa's problem - its a lame ass excuse.
Butler and Monty faced a Big Ten defense and did nothing - not a coincidence.
Grier, Butler, Murray, etc look amazing when you just run a fly route for a wide open TD 3 times a game.

So he's supposed to treat the game like it's their Super Bowl like KF does? No thanks

Really? I'm surprised by that. I'd think the Drake kids would be jacked for the opportunity.

Oh yeah I forgot, 4-8 Illinois sucks but 4-8 Nebraska doesn't. Plus Minnesota went 3-6 in the Big Ten and they play in the West. THE WEST! Lol

3-6 in the worst major division of college football means you totally suck. That division has 3-4 easy wins for any team with a pulse, 3-6 means you very possibly went the entire conference season without a good win.

Full disclosure I'm sure there were times the Big 12 North fit that description back in the day after Nebraska fell off and 2-6 or 3-5 in those years would have equalled "suck" as well.

Minnesota has been a below average program that has only been bowl eligible recently because of laughably easy schedules.

Patrick Mahomes

Morons like you said the exact same about him, turns out NFL even defenses are very easy for him to carve up like a warm knife through butter.
