So he didn't throw a great pass the first play in that highlight while on the run? Lol oh my God. And I love how hitting open receivers in stride is nothing special but your own QB can't even do it
The first pass was a good throw, but it never should have been thrown. You can’t really count on the defensive bank stopping coverage once the ball is in the air. Although he is playing in the Big XII, so maybe that is a common occurrence in that league.
Many of the wide open receivers he didn’t hit in stride. I can think of one in particular where Butler would have had an easy TD but Purdy underthrew him by ten yards, which allowed the defender to catch up to him.
Not sure how you could take anything away from that game other than (1) Purdy looks athletic and elusive enough to avoid sacks and pose a scrambling threat, and (2) Oklahoma State has quite possibly one of the worst P5 pass defenses in recent memory.
