Which two teams? Miami of Ohio and Eastern Michigan?
Arkansas and Mizzou. The rumor was Arkansas we were pushing to schedule first with Mizzou as the backup option if it didn't work out but Arkansas definitely wanted the game to happen

It's great for the State but I do think it's cool to see out of conference P5s play each other.Fans should stop all this fantasy scheduling. The series is here to stay for better or worse. I doubt we ever see a change to this series in our lifetimes.
I do think a two year on, two year off is the best solution for everyone.

Iowa State has played on the road against a MAC school 2 of the 3 prior seasons. The odds of them getting a home and home with an SEC school are pretty much non-existent, with or without the Iowa game. I can understand why Pollard won’t let Iowa out of the contract though; Iowa State needs that game for attendance pretty badly.
Go they MAC home schedules sometime. You'd be suprised at how many power schools have to play there, it's not like the old days. MAC teams are in demand to play.Iowa State has played on the road against a MAC school 2 of the 3 prior seasons. Hah, when is the last time ISU played a P5 school on the road outside of the state of Iowa?

Unless I'm wrong, the last time ISU went on the road against a P5 school not named Iowa in non-conference was in 1997. No way that can be right.
Florida State comes to mind in 2002, but then again was on a neutral field...Unless I'm wrong, the last time ISU went on the road against a P5 school not named Iowa in non-conference was in 1997. No way that can be right.
Thanks Barta
How about all the time there were four non-conference games? Iowa scheduled home and homes with Arizona St., Syracuse, Pittsburgh (twice) and Arizona. Where was Pollard's awesome deals to schedule home and homes with P5 teams then?
Um, you know the history of ISU football... No one was beating down the doors to come to Jack Trice.
And how many of those years were under Pollard where there were 4 non cons?
You need to put in non-conference in there somewhere.
Don't forget the Missouri backout. They noped right out of that contract in 2004. As Iowa was in their run of 3 top 10 finishes it's somewhat understandable. How about all the time there were four non-conference games?
