Oh, man! I hope those two recover. That sounds like an ugly situation -- fight with locals. Get well, Darrell -- you went strong to the glass for ISU in that 11-2 stretch 2 years ago.
I'll always remember Bowie at ISU for doing his fake phone calls after a big play. Loved that.

If the other guy is the one in ICU, I’m assuming they couldn’t airlift him as well?
It takes a special kind of psycho to stab someone multiple times. Hoping Bowie is able to make a full recovery.

I think it's impossible to know much about either guy's condition. Bowel injuries are more likely to require complex surgery and management while many more emergency rooms or small ICUs would be prepared for chest injuries. But both could be life-threatening or not.
Hoping both players are ok and are able to make a full recovery.

Braila County Emergency Hospital spokeswoman Alina Neacsu told The Associated Press both men underwent emergency surgery at the hospital early Sunday. She said McClain sustained stab wounds to his chest and stomach and was "stable" and in intensive care. She said Bowie, who played in 33 games with nine starts for the Cyclones in 2016-17, suffered multiple abdominal wounds, correcting reports that he had suffered a perforated lung. She said both had "perforated wounds" but could not say how they were caused.

The Embassy of the United States of America in Bucharest took note of the two basketball players with ACS Cuza Sport Braila and keeps a close eye on the incident in which the two US citizens were stabbed, the diplomatic mission's Press Office tells AGERPRES, at the national news agency's request.
Two Americans playing for the ACS Cuza Sport Braila were stabbed on the Saturday to Sunday night on a terrace downtown the southeastern city of Braila, one of whom being in a serious medical condition, with his lung perforated, according to the Braila County Police Inspectorate (IPJ).

Romanian authorities said one person attacked the two men without prior conflict, and a larger group joined in the attack when Bowie and McClain tried to leave the area. Investigators said Bowie and McClain were punched and kicked, hit with thrown chairs, and repeatedly stabbed with a knife.
The incident remains under investigation and there is no word on any arrests.
The club said the conditions of Bowie and McClain are improving.
