Darrell Bowie stabbed in Romania

Is the other young man that was attacked African American? If so, that’s some crazy racially motivated **** right there. Deplorable.

I haven't seen anything that says this was racially motivated. Certainly can't rule it out though.
Seems irresponsible to conclude race when there's no indication of any kind that race was a factor. Certainly could have been, but could have been a lot of other things too.
Romania is not a place to be getting into fights. They have some dangerous people over there. Hope his recovers quickly
This was published in the last two hours by Sportando (a European hoops site that I discovered when it reported that Matt Thomas was going to sign with Valencia a number of days before that was even officially announced); this was not written by a native English speaker, I'm guessing:
Two American players of Romanian team Cuza Sport Braila, Joseph McClain and Darrell Bowie were stabbed on Saturday night.
McClain is out of danger and has not been transferred to another medical unit. He has a perforation of the left lung after being hit by a knife.
Darrell Bowie has been transferred to Floreasca Emergency Clinical Hospital with helicopter. He has several lesions on the face, neck and abdominal area. He had a intestine surgery that showed two perforation caused by knife hits.
Both players are not in a life danger situation.
The two American were attacked by a person without any reason. They tried to calm down the aggressor and left the place where they were. Outside they were attacked by 8-9 people and were punched, kicked, some chairs were thrown to them and they were both stabbed.
The incident did not start because of a woman and the players were in that place with some other people.

It may have been racially motivated - we hardly know any details at this point. Throwing that out there with no details or facts is just plain stupid and irresponsible.
Thoughts and prayers to DB and the other man.
Watching Bowie "go off" down the stretch during that season was a thing of beauty - the guy stuck with it and came through for us when we needed him the most!

Just as crazy as you have to be to stab somebody. There was clearly more to this story. Either a set up or a jumping. My guess is the attackers knew who these guys were, it sounds like the initial person who was starting the altercation started coming at them with no reasoning behind it.
If you are following what is going on in central and eastern Europe it is not that much of a jump considering the statement of "no prior conflict" and others jumping in.

No it was right there plain as day, but the "if so" doesn't change anything - if the second victim was also black that still doesn't mean that is racially charged.
