Biggest disadvantage in the CyHawk Series since 1980

I dont think Iowa is in danger of finishing 5-6 if Saturday's game is cancelled and since Iowa's bye week is on Sept. 29 I dont think it would be reasonable to find an opponent willing to travel to IC on that short of notice.

So you'd rather just roll with 11 games than try to schedule a 12th?

Iowa finished with 7 regular season wins last year. Take away one and you are down to 6.
Maybe I wouldn't call that being in danger, but I'd say it's damn close.

Are you aware of the schedule Iowa played last season?

If we could find someone worth playing that would be willing to come to IC with less than 2 weeks notice, sure. Again, I dont think that would be likely and in no scenario would envision Barta and KF reaching out to Drake to try and get a game.

You wouldn't want Barta to try to schedule a contingency game for Dec 1 in case you're not in the conference championship game?

Did you anticipate losing to Purdue and Northwestern last year? **** happens.
Kirk is a career 7.5/8 wins a year guy, take away a W and that's close to being nervous about making a bowl.

I would say the same thing I said about ISU yesterday. If Iowa cant win 6 games without scheduling a "Drake" then they probably dont deserve a bowl.

I'm all for him trying his best to find a suitable opponent, but he stooped way to low to try and schedule a team like Drake and then he tweeted about it like he was a victim of the NCAA.
It's almost like Drake is right next door and thus would be logistically appealing on super-short notice, or something like that. I'm not sure tweeting facts about the situation is "making him a victim", either, when people have been b****ing and moaning at him to do something. There, now everyone knows he did something.

I'm not a fan of the idea, either, but it's really not hard to understand why that particular option was pursued, given that we already have relationships with their athletic department in other sports (for the record, I'm not expecting more than 11 regular season games).

Are you having quote issues? And, that's great you have an opinion about ISU making a bowl.

Most of the hoks here are showing mental issues, I can see that much. It's now Wednesday, yet here we are, talking about Jamie f***ing Pollard in a thread about having a supposed disadvantage to a game that was over four days ago. The brain cancer honeypot grew some new accounts recently... imagine that.

Of course he should, but within reason at the same time. Non-scholarship teams are off the board for a reason.

Would you play two P5 teams for a two year stretch if one of those was a home and home with Notre Dame (ISU series being the other)?

Well then your left with Southern and Presbyterian and Presbyterian is transitioning to non scholarship I believe
