Play their schedule and pad our record and win more fans and recruits with a paper tiger team.
Sorry this is the big boy room. No one here has time for the tired "but the schedule" excuse.

No naivete involved, TROLL. We're packing the stands with more people than ever. Our fanbase is strong. More Iowa students overall have chosen ISU over the U of I for many years now. We also have the highest enrollment of all state schools, for what that is worth. That's really naive on a couple of fronts. We absolutely have to start holding our own in state if we want to be on equal or better footing than Iowa. And remember in addition to being recruits they are also fans.
I'd take Hesse or both Nelson's in a heartbeat.
Anthony Nelson seems to be a pretty good DE. He’s from Waukee I think.

Out of ALL the position groups I said, that is all you could come up with? I think I made my point. I don't even think either of them are better than the DEs we have.
Someone tell me which kids from Iowa on either roster right now could play cornerback, safety, QB, RB, WR, or DE competitively in the Big12? I'll hang up and listen.

What we need to do is create and sustain an upward trend in overall recruiting and program development. Of course, it would be nice if we had the built in advantages that the TOE has (like having the local media regularly fellate their coaches, etc.), but we don't need those to be successful. Some of that will even out if we begin to have sustained success overall. And we can have that success whether we win more recruiting battles from the shallow State of Iowa recruiting pool or not. Just win, Baby!
No. And that was to address your initial personal attack of calling me naive. But that's fine. Continue on in your errors in thinking, clearly you aren't worth the time.LOL. You know you've lost the argument when you have to resort to personal attacks. Besides how can I be your son when I am your womans Daddy?
Am I doing it right?
That Nelson kid is a sure fire NFL draft pick of he stays healthy, I'm pretty sure we could find somewhere to play for us. Don't they have a pretty good track record of getting good safety play from Iowa kids too, including several walk ons? Weren't all 3 of their LBers from Iowa last year? They all went to an NFL camp so it's probably safe to say they could have played in the B12. I guess I'm not entirely sure as I don't know a ton about their roster breakdown. Also I don't think anyone is disputing there arent enough D1 kids in Iowa to fill a whole roster so I'm not sure what your overall point is or how it's relevant.
Wished ISU were there.Nebraska lost at home to Colorado, NW lost badly at home to Duke, Purdue lost at home to Eastern Michigan, Iowa beat ISU but it wasnt a good game, and Iowa hasn't looked good for about 5 out of 8 quarters, Illinois and Minny play no one, and Wisconsin is good.
The B1G West is bad.

You think Anthony Nelson has Big12 speed? Josey Jewell was a great B1G linebacker and I still remember him getting destroyed by McCaffery and Montgomery in open space. You serious Clark?
