UofI not paying contractors, AGAIN

Who is accountable for this? Someone has to be in charge right?

The regents will give them whatever they want. Can't have the university look bad. Tax payers and people / children getting treatment at the hospital will have to foot the bill.

That's a ******* embarrassing article. The people that work that piping company have families to feed too, and I'm sure not getting paid could have major ramifications on that.

I was just thinking the same thing. They must be a pretty strong, well run company to be able to withstand that kind of bad debt on their books. I'm glad they're pressing the issue and not being brushed aside.

Who do they think they are, Trump?

Am I interpreting this correctly- The U of I strategy is to enter into contracts, then not meet their financial obligations, and gamble that the injured party will just go away out of exasperation?

Probably shouldn't go there but I will anyway. Seems like they are stealing the playbook of a certain Person they really dislike. Darn: beat me to it.

So lets get this straight. The University of Iowa gets a huge new expansion to their property that just happens to overlook Kinnick stadium. Tons of national publicity from "the wave" and then they want the taxpayers of Iowa to foot the bill. Ya Forget you JoBu.

I think the "wave" must really be meaniful to these Children's Hospital contractors....more like the "finger" to them.

The hospital and it’s budgetary issues have been embarrassing for years. Glad it’s finally coming to light. They’re stupidly short staffed yet the higher ups are still racking it in. Pretty pathetic to go on top of all these other issues.

I'll 2nd this. Girlfriend works at the Children's Hospital and says the same thing.

I have talked to several people that are disappointed in some of the little things too. As I said it's little things but as I understand it they used to have more toys/things for kids to do in waiting rooms and treatment rooms. Those are all pretty much all gone now.

When I went with my sister to chem, they had decent stock of refreshments and such at the beginning. Second wave, it was coffee and graham crackers. A vending cart was pushed around to buy from.
