Iowa -7 vs ISU

It's embarrassing to give a coach a reward for having a graduation rate of 67.5% IMO

It isn’t just Grad rates that Iowa users for merit raises. Show us how ISu rewards its assistants for Grad Rates higher than Iowa and then I will agree with you how embarrassing 67.5% is.

Just give me a link.

Iowa isn’t a national power like Clemson, Alabama or Ohio State and probably never will be. Iowa will never out-recruit any of those folks on a consistent basis. The way Iowa can compete is developing players that are not 4-5 star recruits to a position to be able to compete with schools that do. Look I wasn’t the one who started the thing about Doyle CyTwins was. If iSu fans don’t want Iowa fans to respend why does this forum exist?

BUT, oh brilliant one, they CAN'T compete. They can't compete with the greatest S&C coach that ever lived combined with one of the highest paid coaches in the country. CyTwins chose to mock the raise, you choose to defend it - weakly.

I would like to think this forum exists for some rational debates between the two fan bases.

In reality this forum probably does better at attracting lightweight defenders of Hokdom that stop by for a few weeks, leave their drivel and then try again under another handle.

It’s embarrassing for Iowa Football to graduate at a rate of 76% when the general student population is 71%?

Why don’t you tell us how iSu bases it raises for football assistants. Then we can see if grad rates are meaningful or not.

But make sure it is a link. You are a real stickler for that.

Curious, how does Iowa compare in the conference. If they set a goal of 67.5%, I'm guessing that is above average in the conference.

So why is Doyle highest paid S&C coach in country -

Graduation rate isn't very good
Team results are very mediocre
He has had several incidents questioning athlete safety concerns
I have proven there are S&C coaches that do better at turning out NFL talent

I mean, I would like to know how to haul in high 6 digit salary being very mediocre in my job.

I don’t think the % grad Rate was based on conference performance but more around the AD vision of Win, Graduate and do it the right way.

When iSu can get to Iowa’s level of success then you can call it mediocre. I have a feeling though iSu fans and CMC himself would be thrilled with Iowa’s level of achievement.

It's mediocre for how much money Iowa puts into it, that's the issue. Of course KF's results wouldn't be mediocre here.

Good comeback, I checked. You guys are 11th in the conference. The lowest graduation rate was higher than what Doyle needs for a bonus. That might as well just be added to his salary. Looks like a bonus for just showing up, maybe just for breathing.

Iowa doesn’t spend near what they do on football at Michigan or Texas or a host of other schools.
