Why is Kinnick Stadium considered historic?

Lol what? Iowa doesn't have a RB on their roster as good as Higdon

I said Iowa will develop a 3 star RB that will match the production of Higdon. I then stated what Young and IKM would need to do this year to continue to exceed the production that Higdon had.

I never said they would, you asked me if ISU would be better with them on their roster and I said yes. That's it

The only way iSu would have been better is if they could have coached and developed the Iowa players to the same level that Iowa did. Right now there is no evidence that iSu can do that.

Here is what I know as it stands today, the current iSu staff hasn’t proven they can match the coaching and development that Iowa has consistently delivered. You can dance around that all you want but it still won’t change anything.
Are you seriously trying to compare the 20 year history of Kirk at Iowa with the 2 years or Campbell at ISU? Off course Iowa has developed more players based on time alone. If you want development of the current ISU staff, look at Kareem Hunt and David Montgomery as examples. Claiming those Iowa guys wouldn't be where they are now because ISU couldn't develop players is an impossible point to argue since there is no way to prove it. They could have been All-Americans at ISU, but we will never know because they went to Iowa.

If Iowa's best RB only has 425 yards rushing this year it's going to be a long year for you guys

So you're saying you don't know if ISU would have been better with King, Jewell, Fant and Jackson on their roster because you don't know how they would have developed or been coached?

KF had players early his 1st 2 years that were drafted. CMC hasn’t.

I would assume whoever is starting at RB will have more than 425 yards and will be worse than Higdon this year. Not going out on a limb there

So now you are arguing that a Senior with significant starting experience will have more production than a first year starter, wow really going out on a limb there.

Want a cookie for that?

Yeah which is why not getting Higdon was a big blow for you guys

So you are arguing that's what makes Kinnick historic?

Campbell had almost the entire staff he has now while at Toledo and got Hunt drafted and he was at Toledo (with less resources) and he was there for 3 years. He has proven to be able to identify and develop talent. There has been a clear improvement in ISU football since he got here.

Many Hawkeye fans call Kinnick Stadium historic, but I don't understand why. Is that just because it is old? Is the stadium a state historical site?

It's historic because Iowa said so :)

Is that reason enough for you? Kidding aside, it's one of those things that teams do that irritate fans of other schools and you like if it's your own school doing it. Stadium is not an historical site. It's old, kind of cool to attend a game in and it's named after Iowa's Heisman winner and a guy who died in WWII on a training mission. That's pretty much it.

I agree with most of that but the cool to attend a game in. Sure the card stunts look awesome on TV but that stadium itself seems to have less seat and legroom than over a dozen NCAA stadiums I've been to.

I don't get why you're continuing to harp down this path. I believe we're all in agreement that those players would have made ISU better. No one here is stating they would have been just as good or better at ISU vs Iowa. We all agree that Iowa has better history and track record getting players in the NFL.

Twins was basically agreeing with you and you're still trying to troll for something.
