Iowa -7 vs ISU

That is the only time I’ve ever been nervous outside Kinnick. After that game there was a bunch of ISU fans runn8ng their mouths and Iowa fans right back at them. I saw two sets of pushing and shoving groups. Not a good scene. I’d be just as happy if this game was a permanent 11 kick.
It’s not hard to avoid being in bad situations. I wouldn’t mind if it’s a permanent 7 o’clock game.

Yes but I’m old and sort of a get off my lawn type so there’s that. I’ve been to every Iowa ISU game since 1994 and that’s the only one I’ve been nervous about. In the end, neither AD or any of the television networks listen to me anyway so it really doesn’t matter.

Edit to add, a 7 pm kick is a pain for those of us who have to drive. Three and a half hours of driving after the game. That’s close to 3 am when I get home. That’s closer to wake up time than go to sleep time.

Watched the highlights of last years game last night. What a great game...one of the better games in college football last year. Back and forth...overtime. We've had some great games in this series....the 2 overtime game you guys won a few years back....

Anyway, talk of ending the series is just silly...an under rated rivalry in CFB IMO.

The fact that talk of ending the series gets such heated debates is answering the question of whether or not it's a good rivalry.

Agreed on it being a great game. Momentum went back and forth, fans were having a blast. Good stuff.

Which one?

He went on a rant that Stanley wasn't a top 8 QB in the Big Ten but they had 3 Ohio State guys on there by some newspaper or something. I didn't hear the interview just heard them talking about it the next day on the radio

Feel free to cite a source on this. It wouldn't be the Columbas Dispatch by chance, would it? I have no visions of grandeur about Stanley piling up accolades, but one would imagine that if OSU had this stable of QBs, Urban would have trusted one of them to go and beat lowly Stanley. Yet he stuck with Barrett through all 4 interceptions.

Feel free look it up yourself. I already said I don't remember where I read it.

Some context to the conversation would be helpful. Did the "newspaper or something" say they were all better than Stanley on this day or were they higher rated recruits?

I have no clue the context. Just heard the thing on KXNO the next day about Brian and his rant on Stanley not being considered a top 8 QB in the Big Ten and behind 3 Ohio State QB's

Fair enough. If I had to venture a guess, I would say Brian was defending his QB that has taken meaningful college snaps vs 3 QBs that haven't.

Sometimes he goes into the weeds for some reason (taking shots at the number of offers other schools give)

But if he's saying his guy who beat the brakes off of Ohio State is better than 3 guys who didn't play in that game... How is that really a story?

He made it a story obviously which is why it's been discussed

Well he's not wrong. Stanley served up an ass kicking to Ohio State that day, and even down 31, and after multiple picks, Urban stuck with Barrett until the final whistle. So I could understand why Brian would take exception to this "newspaper or something" ranking 3 QBs (2 of which were available to play that day) ahead of Stanley.

Kyle Kempt > Baker Mayfield
