Graham Couch: Iowa Basketball is a mid-major roster

Garza was elite offensively last year as a freshman with plenty of room to improve. He had a better PER and BPM than anyone on Iowa State’s roster, and was a better rebounder than anyone on Iowa State’s roster.

I get that he is easy to make fun of because he is a slow footed, goofy looking white guy, but Garza would be one of the best (if not THE best) offensive players on Iowa State’s team. He wasn’t good defensively, but he wasn’t as terrible as those on this board make him out to be. If you think Iowa State (or the combined Iowa-Iowa State team) wouldn’t find 20 minutes a game for an elite offensive player and rebounder, you are delusional.

Last year Garza averaged 12 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist per game. Lard averaged 12 points, 8 rebounds, half an assist per game.

Garza shot 55% from the floor, Lard 60%.

Go back to sleep.

Lol. What makes Wigginton an elite talent?

Wait, seriously? A team that is named after a state nickname, that uses a bird for a logo, has something called "swarm" (which is a term for a collection of flying insects), and they reference said swarm with emojis of chickens. That's a joke right...
A swarm is brewing and grinding to greatness.

Fran can do well. Last season was bad. Iowa sucked. So did ISU. ISU has a better recruiting class so they will be better. Iowa will continue to suck and ISU is a tournament lock next year. According to all ISU fans.

It cant be right because then they would have to admit he can develop players.

1) No sane ISU mbb fan would trade our program for Iowa's
2) You need to flush your A.D. I thought I read his first 10 yrs on the job, Iowa has won (4) conference titles (includes regular season + con'f tourney titles?)

~ isn't that w/ bundles of B1G Network cash?

~ Isn't that fielding 24 D1 sports???
~ Competing for regular season + Conference tourney title every season?
~ 48 chances/year to win a title??
~ 480 chances over 10 years?
~ 4 titles out of 480?

By my calculations, in that 10-yr stretch, Iowa has won less than 1% of the regular season and conference tourney titles, assuming every sport has both every year

You seem like a decent guy but if you haven't realized Fran isn't a good coach by now you have your head in the sand

Most ISU fans think we'll be in that 4 to 7 slot in the Big 12. I'd say 5 to 6 seems pretty reasonable.
If you haven't noticed that's been a tourney birth in the NCAA from a great B12.
