Graham Couch: Iowa Basketball is a mid-major roster

cy is a damn bird for christ sake. Lets stop talking about stupid mascot stuff because it makes zero sense coming from the cyclones of the mid west with a tornado symbol and a bird as a mascot.
I mean, tornados > chicks, at least by emoji standards. I wasn't comparing Cy to Herky.

YOU KEEP MARGARET OUT OF THIS!!!!!!

Wait, seriously? A team that is named after a state nickname, that uses a bird for a logo, has something called "swarm" (which is a term for a collection of flying insects), and they reference said swarm with emojis of chickens. That's a joke right...

Iowa's Basketball/Football social media presence is really bad

Nothing says welcome to Iowa Basketball like Fran’s high school spawn tweeting peeps at you and calling you bro. Should have linked that dance video from Tyrannosaurus Woody days.

Shayok would have been a major contributor to UVA last year and his experience would have helped them in the tourney. The article even stated his decision to transfer was a surprise. Marial transferred looking to show case his scoring abilities in an uptempo system to improve his pro stock. After an off season of work on his game he'll get his opportunity.

Try to minimize the impact of transfers if you want but there is a reason the national recruiting media is Identifying him and Jacobson as impact performers.

If he wanted to play in an up-tempo system, why would he transfer to Iowa State? I guess in relative terms, anything is “up-tempo” in comparison to Virginia, but Iowa State doesn’t really play particularly fast or up-tempo.

Also, Jacobson isn’t going to be an impact performer for anyone at the P5 level. He’ll be an ok role player, I guess.
