Graham Couch: Iowa Basketball is a mid-major roster

If Cook doesn’t come back Iowa is going to suck again, that I am pretty confident of. If Cook does come back, I think they can make the NCAAs.
Iowa has no chance of making the NCAA again under Fran. He has been exposed as the horrible coach he is, and there aren't enough lifelong hok fans out there to save him again.

Lol what?!?

I don’t see how that’s controversial. They would return three guys that have proven to be pretty good, and add a high level recruit. They will probably have one of the most efficient offenses in the country. Just need a little more commitment and improvement on the defensive end, and in a weaker conference they could win enough games to make the tournament.

This is what you said last year. Except it was 4 returning not three.

Some people hold their kids back specifically for sports so they will be more competitive against younger kids. That would seem weird for the Franiacs since I don’t think Connor was a year older than his class. Whatever. Maybe he was going to change jobs or something when kid was going to start school? Some hold back a kid that is physically small but that surely wasn’t the case.

It also depends on cognitive development as they grow as well. Some kids do require an extra year before they’re ready to start to school. He may have gone to pre k while he developed as well. There is nothing wrong with that at all. Some kids are ready at 5, some aren’t.

I would think as slight as he is, there would be a real thought to physical development as well. I wouldn’t think he lost the ability to gain weight this many years after undergoing treatment for cancer.

Cook was the only player on your team that even got a vote from a coach to be all conference. Garza and Bohannon are awful defensively, that's not going to change. I think Bohannon actually got worse defensively as a sophomore if that was even possible.

Also a top 100 recruit isn't necessarily a "high level recruit"

And a coach who can, you know, actually coach, and some athletic players, and really just some guys who are actually good at basketball. Then they should be just fine.

You’re right, I am obsessed with Hawkeye sports but that’s normal for a fan of a certain school/team.

It’s not normal for grown adults to be obsessed about a high school kid and a college freshman the way some ISU fans around here are with the McCaffery boys....not saying you are one of those ISU fans.

When you start using the word "obessed" we all know you are "triggered".

BTW if you are so "obsessed" with Hawkeye sports, get off CF and stay on the hawk sites then idiot! Please just pick up your hawkeye basketball and go home.

You expect the Big Ten to be weaker next year? I don't even know if that is possible

You been sniffing tidy bowl with hawkmi again?

We should be more kind to @YeahBuddy . It's clear he has some sort of mental disability. It's either that, or he is just some total loser trying to act cool on a rival's message board. I'll try to see innocence and go with the first option.

Garza could easily improve defensively. Woodbury developed into a good defender, and he was just as slow of foot as Garza is (and Garza has much better length).

Adding Wieskamp and getting Connor back will also be a big help if only because they won’t have to play Pemsl, Nunge, and Baer at the three anymore.
