Some people hold their kids back specifically for sports so they will be more competitive against younger kids. That would seem weird for the Franiacs since I don’t think Connor was a year older than his class. Whatever. Maybe he was going to change jobs or something when kid was going to start school? Some hold back a kid that is physically small but that surely wasn’t the case.

I was 17 when I competed at the state track meet. I didn't turn 18 until the summer after graduating.
