Iowa Football Recruiting

DL only lost Bazata.
DB is always a strength for a Parker led defense. Jackson loss will be big.
RB doesnt have experience. I could maybe some them as a ?
WR- Definitely
OL- Jackson started 12 games and was suspended for the bowl game, freshman AA. Wirfs, Jackson and Render are returning starters.

Reynolds was also a part time starter on the line.

From the outside looking in I don't see how the WR could go anywhere but up for them, but the LB's would be a concern in my book.

Iowa always finds RB's that produce regardless of how talented they are. They usually have the OL to mask any deficiency there.

ISU returns Lima, Bailey, Uwazurike & Benton that played several snaps.

You forgot Jamahl Johnson & Carson Lensing. Jamahl doesn't have a ton of stats because he has the same task as Lima (occupying blockers) as his backup. I believe Lensing sat out with an injury the 2nd half of the season or he would have been out there more.

I didn't forget them.

I quoted the guys who played several snaps.

Johnson and Lensing did not play several snaps. That doesn't mean they won't be big contributors this year (yes I know Lensing was injured).

The majority of the snaps on the interior were between Lima and Trent, with Uwazurike being situational playing inside. Johnson did get more time as the season went on though, but it was rarely more than 8-10 snaps per game.

Nice to see Twins is still up to his usual schtick- I see some things never change. I do wonder though, at some point, wouldn’t a normally sane and healthy individual get tired of using the same repeated trolls over and over for literally thousands of posts?

Saying Iowa has question marks for next season at multiple position groups is trolling now? Interesting

Bold strategy Cotton. 1st post on a new account and going directly at Twins. Let's see how this works out.

And Iowa fans said that Ragubumba guy was going to be the next lockdown corner at Iowa and he sucks. I have no problem if you're optimistic going into next season but it's still a question mark
The only thing I remember about Rugamba last year is when he tried tackling Montgomery and got thrown over the shoulder:

Sidenote: it stunning that Montgomery shook one guy and literally tossed the other while having zero momentum or time to react. Ridiculous.

Iowa might lack depth because of experience, but their incoming DL recruits do not suck and they lost 1 guy......AJ is fine. It is a luxury that he is not starting right at the moment because someone is talented and can spell him.

DB I am fine with what they have there for now. Let them develop. Someone new might pop up and dominate like King did, Jackson did, I could go on with that.

RB we are fine. Wadley was a stud, but we will get good production out of the other guys there.

OL we have talent here. Experience is not lacking as most have seen game action from last year. And it is the OL at Iowa

LB, a concern yes, but that doesnt mean we are lacking talent. It will be a learning curve there and mistakes will be made.

WR, a bit of a wild card here. We have a lot of athletes that could be talented, but they need experience. I think between Smith, Cooper, Smith-Marsette, Marchese, we can find another talented guy. Our TEs go 2 very good to studly guys to other talented guys. I think that helps bridge the gap. If we get Wagner to play football that could also be a weapon. New 2018 recruits will be helpful too in Tyrone Tracy, Sampson Evans, Calvin Lockett, Nico Ragaini. Those guys were actually legit targets. Athletes in Tracy and Evans but good talent and targets that can play anywhere and WR is the first guess. I think between the 8, potentially 9 guys that is a good base to find 1 or 2 other playmakers to go with Easley Fant and Hockensen.

I just dont understand it with the depth angle. ISU loses KEY leaders in Lazard and Lanning. 2 leaders that ISU has not had before IMO. Who keeps that moving along now that they are gone? WR has Bulter but who will be the LB that steps up there?

Last year all off season and during the season: Lazard is slow, bad hands, overrated.

Now: How in the world can ISU replace Lazard

Lol
