Iowa Football Recruiting

I'm sure Matt Nelson being out this Spring has something to do with that.

I mean, if you look at returning production from both teams on the DL it is pretty much equal. (Though Lima's numbers dont reflect his production).

Lima was hurt all last year too plus we have two top JUCOs that should be productive this year. I don't know how anyone could argue we don't have more depth than them. I think DL is going to be a question mark for them along with multiple other position groups

It won't matter much, since they play in the marshmallow-soft Big Ten West.

Lima was not hurt "all last year", but yes he was hurt for a portion. He's not a TFL or sack machine. He is going to take on double teams and let the LB's run free. Nothing wrong with that at all.

You completely ignored that I said "proven depth," There are several guys on the ISU DL that have a lot to prove.

I think they're going to be good, but there are only 4 guys who played a significant amount of snaps.

Lima had a hurt back pretty much all of last year

If I do recall, it was his elbow that was injured more than his back. Football players have to deal with nagging injuries likely almost every week.

Vernell Trent was a good depth guy but there definitely was a drop off from Lima to him.

Go to the 4:00 min mark

Good to know.

I was not denying that Lima is a great player. He is.

ISU returns Lima, Bailey, Uwazurike & Benton that played several snaps.

There is potential for depth but it has to be proven.

He was great last year and Rasheed said he's a totally different animal this year. Watch out

What is funny about this @YeahBuddy?

A lot.

Im actually kind of surprised you didnt have QB as a question mark for Iowa.

DL and DB will be fine. Parker always has a good defensive backfield. OL has 3 returning starters including both tackles. One of those OT's was freshman AA.

LB and WR (other than Easley) are huge question marks. RB's have talent but dont have much experience. Young and ISM both showed some promise last year in very limited action.

DL - your own coach is talking about moving people around because of depth issues
LB - obvious
DB - lost Jackson and whoever your CB was across from him last year was garbage so I would assume there would have to be some concerns there
RB - obvious
WR - obvious
OL - Lost your two best OL and returns only two starters from the bowl game IIRC

DL only lost Bazata.
DB is always a strength for a Parker led defense. Jackson loss will be big.
RB doesnt have experience. I could maybe some them as a ?
WR- Definitely
OL- Jackson started 12 games and was suspended for the bowl game, freshman AA. Wirfs, Jackson and Render are returning starters.

Iowa has to get the WR figured out if they want to step up to the next level in the BIG...otherwise teams will continue to stack the line to stop the run. ISU has to get continuity and depth at the OL to improve the run blocking.

Really looking forward to the summer to see how this develops...who besides Easley steps up at Iowa WR?

I've never even heard of one of your RB's so yeah MAYBE that could be a question mark lol

You said the exact same thing about Jackson last year. I feel pretty good about Iowa's CB's going into next season now.

And Iowa fans said that Ragubumba guy was going to be the next lockdown corner at Iowa and he sucks. I have no problem if you're optimistic going into next season but it's still a question mark
