Minor win for me. I fixed the icemaker in my 15 year old Kenmoor fridge today. I was a little intimidated since I'd never messed with a fridge before, but it only cost $25 for an inlet valve and about 15 minutes of my time.

It sure beat the hell out of the likely $250 it would have cost to get a service to come out. Youtube is pretty awesome sometimes.

I think you should be able to make picks if you log into cbssports. Once the groups are set up I think they just open back up each year.

I received an email giving me the option to make my picks already. You might check your spam if you don't have it in your inbox.

I just need to find my password again. I only use that site once a year and I think I end up resetting my password every year.

Feels weird doing the challenge and not picking ISU to win a few rounds.
I may have used my work email last year. Can you check & see if mine has a @iastate.edu domain?

Been TV slumming watching house hunter shows. First Hawaii and now Dominican Republic.

Last year @cyrocksmypants was trying to talk me into Costa Rica. Now he's on to Australia or New Zealand. Thinking that's where I need to go next winter.

Well, after 26 years in the same house, I finally met my match in a sink I can't get unplugged. I think it'll need to be snaked because both sides of the kitchen sink are holding water. So I called Roto-Rooter, and will have them put in a new kitchen faucet, and fix the hot water side of my bathroom faucet while they are there. I've got the new kitchen faucet sitting in my living room closet, so there's that. I'm just getting too damn old to crawl under sinks anymore -- makes my back hurt. Might as well get everything done while he/she is there.

Shortly after we moved in the door ice dispenser stopped working. Still makes ice but won't dispense it. After some investigation I determined that the mechanism to spin the agitator and spit ice out was likely stripped. Parts are well north of $100 and of course for some dumb reason the home warranty did not cover it. So for the last twoish years we have been reaching in and getting the ice out of the box ourselves like cavemen.

DH home safe and sound last night. He smelled weird though. Probably a combo of Indian food and 30 hours of travel/plane time. He showered as I was going to bed and he smelled like himself again this morning. Much better.

Then saw on the news there was a bad plane crash in Nepal and I'm just happy DH is home.

@cowgirl836, I can only imagine - international travel these days is fraught with danger. SIL is flying from Seattle to Paris to (get this) go snowboarding in the French Alps. That would be a long flight, I'm sure. Daughter Kylee is home with the two boys, I'm sure she will be more than happy when he gets home again.

So, my sister's boyfriend got a DUI a little over a month ago now. They were already strapped for cash so he had to sell off his ATV and old Mustang.
She texted my gf last night about advice on getting a puppy of going on a vacay. Long story short, my sister and her boyfriend are getting a puppy today.

To summarize, my sister is a ******* idiot.

It sounds like you have two choices.

1) Start drinking your scotch neat

2) Burn the entire house down, collect the insurance money and get a new fridge in the process

My unpacked clothes all seem like "Mexico". Kind of a humid tropical smell I notice my first day there and then not again till I get home and pop stuff out of the suitcase.

He didn’t happen to have glitter on his clothes per chance?

Disliked because you need to tell us when an old mustang, Camaro, charger or such comes up on a fire sale. Unless it’s a 5.0, yuck.
