Graham Couch: Iowa Basketball is a mid-major roster

Settles never won a state title and they were upset by Hudson in the first round his senior year. Not sure Lappe played much for that team. He was either in 8th grade or a freshman. Had a terrific point guard Eric Rawson I believe.

Semifinal loss. Lost to applington year before in final and to ims in district play as a fresh and soph. I know, semantics but still.

Hudson beat Nishna Valley in the first round that year, they had a big guy that ended up playing football at ISU. They trailed by double digits in the first half, made a big comeback and rolled to the title. Kind of like Glenwood in 3A this year.

I'd say Settles pre back injuries is right there with Street as the best Iowa born to play for the hoks.

Sophomore Year--- Settles was huge, and cut. huge difference from freshman year. His last 4 yrs? not so much

hmmm. Soph year? massive acne, enlarged jaw-line, and back issues like of a 60-yr old.

Run along now. Nothing to see here.

With it being obvious that Cook will back now, I am a bit surprised the hype train for next year hasn't started to roll. Does ToE have another international trip against local pick up teams to jump start the title talk? Or do we have to wait for Weiskamp's Triple Doubles in the PTL?

I about spit out my coffee. The hype train will be in full swing after that happens.

Teams are only allowed an overseas trip once every 3-4 years.

There's definitely some smoke out there that he won't be back

You are letting facts (or possible facts) get in the way of reality. Hok will spin whatever Cook does as a step forward. Time to move on. My favorite season outside of CFB and MBB is Hok Hype Season. I am just trying to figure out what will trigger hok frenzy this year. Last year it was Garza dunking on some 16 year olds in Europe.

I have not seen anything that indicates Cook is coming back to Iowa. Haven't seen anything definitive that he is going either. Is he getting a lot of attention from the pro? His defense in a pretty weak big 10 doesn't scream pro player.
