Graham Couch: Iowa Basketball is a mid-major roster

I don't think he'll be at Iowa next year and I'm not trolling. Too much smoke out there about him not having plans to be in Iowa City after this season for it to not have some truth to it
We shall see. Would be a huge loss for the Hawks. Selfishly, I hope he returns for another go next year.

If I were an Iowa fan you'd almost wonder if you'd rather have him leave so you can hurry up the process of getting rid of Fran

This is what I'd be hoping for. Problem is, they have that insane buyout since they got Barta-ed.

Considering the buyout Fran isn't leaving for 2 years in my opinion. If may look worse for Fran with Tyler on the roster..

Cook leaves Fran and Barta can use that as an excuse of losing their most talented player for not making the tourney.
Cook stays Fran loses that excuse and results are all on him.

Agreed. Similar situation to what happened with Jok a few years ago. I'd put my hypothetical money on him coming back for his Junior year. Him not hiring an agent certainly points to that.
Tbh, no reason everyone with aspirations to go pro shouldn't do this same thing. I think it was Calipari who had everyone on their team "test the waters" even their walk-ons. Can't hurt your chances and gives you a good gauge on where you are at and what you need to improve upon.

Iowa. I don't see him transferring at this point in his career if he has NBA aspirations. (Forced to sit out one more season.) If anything I could see him going to Europe before I see him transferring.
Someone contact Lavar, the Big Baller League could use a guy like Cook!

Neil Fegebank was hyped about as much as Jess back in the day

I know that Jess came from a smaller school, but I think winning the BiG frosh of the year and leading the team was impressive. Even though a smaller school they won state all four years he was playing and watching from a rival team, their team his senior year was one of the most impressive teams I've seen in high school. Jess Settles (ToE), Clay Edwards (Good guys), and Burt Lappe (UNI) all on one high school team.

Settles never won a state title and they were upset by Hudson in the first round his senior year. Not sure Lappe played much for that team. He was either in 8th grade or a freshman. Had a terrific point guard Eric Rawson I believe.

I'm sorry i was mistaken. You are right rhey didnt win a title until 95, but Lappe was a freshman on Settles Sr team, and he did llay as a freshman.
