Graham Couch: Iowa Basketball is a mid-major roster

People keep forgetting too that RPI is not the be-all end-all anymore when selecting teams. It used to be easier to project who gets in because of RPI resumes. This year, it will be really interesting to see who gets in from the teams on the bubble.

Lmao at the Iowa fans using Isu being in last as an excuse. Big Ten is the biggest joke in recent memory once you get past the top 4.

Big 12 has 10 viable tourney teams, when's the last time you could say that about any conference? Big 10 is a dumpster fire this year.

Using buddy's thought process. Isu is in 10th place in the big XII and iowa is in 12 th place in the big ten. Would mean ISU is higher in their conference.

Last place is not as good as 3rd to last place.

YeahBuddy, you realize once Cook leaves it's going to be more of the same next year? Weiskamp isn't turning them into a tourney team as a freshman.

They have exactly 1 power 5 player on the team now and everyone knows he's leaving. At least Isu has alot of talent and everyone knows they will be good next year.

Remember when you guys were going to be better without Jok because he shoots way too much? Lmao!!!

Nebraksa is getting in at 13-5 or 14-4, I'll bookmark this prediction and check back selection Sunday.

I don't care how bad Big 10 sucks, a power 5 team with 14 conf wins is getting in.

It isn't like it has never happened. Washington went 14-4 in 2012, won the regular season Pac-12 and went to the NIT.

That team only won 21 games, didn't even play a ranked team all conference season let alone beat one and lost to a scrub Oregon St team in the conf tourney.

Big 10 as bad as it sucks is nothing compared to how bad Pac 12 was that year so it's not really fair to compare them.

Nebby plays 1 game each against the top 4 teams (other than Nebby)...1 win against Michigan, the #5 team in the BIG. They play two games each against the bottom feeders (4 of the 5 bottom teams). They likely will get a double bye in the BIG tourney...then play the #5, likely Michigan. What happens when they lose that...

Nebraska is considered on the bubble, right now. If they win out and go 14-4 and win their first BTT game I think they are in.

If they lose ONE of their next 4 games I think they are out. They play nobody the rest of the way and a loss will really hurt them. They would either be losing a home game to an average team or a road game to Illinois. Yikes. Winning them all isn't a big help but NOT losing may keep them above the cut line. Too many variables to be certain. A notable BTT win would be a must in this scenario.

The ONLY team they've beaten that will be in the tournament is Michigan, from what I can tell.

They lost by 23 to St. Johns!

Correct, the Pac-12 was worse that season than the Big 10 this season. Interestingly, Washington had an RPI of 54 that season which is Nebraska's current RPI.
