Graham Couch: Iowa Basketball is a mid-major roster

I'm definitely not debating that they have a terrible schedule.

I am debating that a 13-5 P5 school gets left out. I have a very hard time seeing the committee do that. (FWIW I don't think Nebraska is NCAA tourney good).

Maybe the committee throws a curveball and lets Nebraska in but every projection I've seen has them out. Bracketmatrix doesn't even have them in the first four out but in the next four out. I think they would be in at 14-4 but would need two wins in the B10 tournament to get in at 13-5.

I doubt it but take a look at Nebraska's 10 conference wins.

Top 50 RPI: 1
Top 50-100 RPI: 1
Top 100-150 RPI: 5
Top 150-200 RPI: 1
Top 200+ RPI: 2

8 of their 10 wins are outside the RPI top 100. ISU has twice as many top 100 RPI wins as Nebraska. Their conference schedule is one of the worst P5 schedules in the country.
Nebby plays 1 game each against the top 4 teams (other than Nebby)...1 win against Michigan, the #5 team in the BIG. They play two games each against the bottom feeders (4 of the 5 bottom teams). They likely will get a double bye in the BIG tourney...then play the #5, likely Michigan. What happens when they lose that...

This sounds just like every football season for ISU. But but but if we were in the B1G.
Well, it is pretty tough having to play every school in the conference in each sport (and twice for basketball).

Having the odd-ball years of getting to avoid OU, WVU, OSU, TCU, etc. would be nice.

I really didnt expect you to be an excuse maker like @CyTwins and a huge portion of the ISU fan base.

This is disappointing.

Its an excuse.

Look pal, there is one instate program alone in last place in their conference and it isnt the squad from Iowa City.

Just because the Big Ten is full of horrible basketball teams doesn't make Iowa better than Iowa State.

B1G <> Big 12 in talent. Period.

How many ranked teams has Iowa played this year? Now play as many ranked teams as ISU has, and play them all twice a season.

We don't get to play Rutgers twice or Minnesota twice. We get to play top 15 teams multiple times a year. A little bit different.

Look pal, there is one instate program that plays in a conference with 4 schools with under .500 record, and it isn't the squad from Ames.

There it is again....but but but if ISU was in the B1G.

I really thought you were better than this.

Now now.

I don't think I made any claim that ISU would have a better record if they were in the Big Ten.

But with that being said, it's kinda funny how the Sagarin/Kenpom/RPI is nice to use except for when it roasts your argument.

What happened to regional power house? Or team that had too much talents? Or the team was going to be no worse than 29-5 according to DanL53 aka Yeabuddy?
