Graham Couch: Iowa Basketball is a mid-major roster

Remember the good times when the regional powerhouse was going to show their stuff against Cincinnati in that tournament?

Nebraksa is getting in at 13-5 or 14-4, I'll bookmark this prediction and check back selection Sunday.

I don't care how bad Big 10 sucks, a power 5 team with 14 conf wins is getting in.
That's not how it works. The number of conference wins are completely irrelevant.

I'm not saying they will or won't, because there are too many variables, but people referencing their conference record just don't get it.

Ummmm, congrats?

You must be really proud of the Kansas Cyclones, KSU Cyclones, Oklahoma Cyclones, OSU Cyclones, Baylor Cyclones, TCU Cyclones, Texas Tech Cyclones, West Virginia Cyclones and Texas Cyclones to all have a better RPI than a few B1G teams.

Were any of those teams in a P5 conference and 13-5?

Not being a smarta** either, just curious.

I doubt it but take a look at Nebraska's 10 conference wins.

Top 50 RPI: 1
Top 50-100 RPI: 1
Top 100-150 RPI: 5
Top 150-200 RPI: 1
Top 200+ RPI: 2

8 of their 10 wins are outside the RPI top 100. ISU has twice as many top 100 RPI wins as Nebraska. Their conference schedule is one of the worst P5 schedules in the country.

You'e overthinking this, you honestly think a team win 22 wins and 14-4 in a power conference is getting left out? That's crazy talk.

I'm definitely not debating that they have a terrible schedule.

I am debating that a 13-5 P5 school gets left out. I have a very hard time seeing the committee do that. (FWIW I don't think Nebraska is NCAA tourney good).

Right now Lunardi only has 4 big ten teams in the tournament. Yikes

Nebraska is the fraud that will sneak in. They've beaten nobody other than Michigan at home.

There's no way they finish any better than Baylor/OKst/Texas/ISU in the Big 12. I'd feel pretty confident picking them last...yet they sit in 4th place right now with almost no quality wins.

Because their conference is one of the worst P5 conferences in history.

Depends on their resume'. You don't understand how selection works. That's OK.

13-5 was your earlier statement, by the way. Don't move the target. Beating somebody of merit matters. I didn't say they wouldn't get in either. I'm just saying that people don't understand the selection criteria.

Whoa. Someone is really salty you're conference is so bad

I figured you were better than the conference strength argument that most Clone fans resort to when ISU is down in football or basketball....guess not.

Nebraska is dancing at 13-5 or 14-4. Lunardi is an idiot, he thinks he's some big shot because he does what 95% of posters on this board could predict.

They have one decent win. There are loads of mid major teams with a better resume in terms of quality wins who are off the bubble. Their RPI is only 54. Neb is a one or two game losing streak from being outside the top 68 RPI let alone the field. They are correctly placed on the bubble because it's a fraudulent resume at this point.
