The plow dumped a mound of snow the end of our driveway as soon as I got inside from snowblowing the driveway, of course. Luckily, the neighbor must have cleaned it off while we were gone as repayment for doing their sidewalk.

The other neighbors left me another half gallon of OJ by our front door for doing theirs. :D
I'll give you a gallon if you clean my drive.

Anyone driven outside of town yet? Everything says partially covered on 511 but just how bad is it?

Is anyone else saying that? No other places are reporting it yet.

At least the stations here in E IA as well as the NWS have a good chance of getting something but it is too far out to say much past that. Also keep in mind that is a cumulative projection over the entire time period and not just one storm. Also it is also always way overblown and I am 99% sure it is always posted to make my blood pressure go up. ;)

If you read the NWS's forecast discussion, they've been talking about some storms at the end of the week, but they still don't know where they'll land. The latest I read is that it may track a bit more south of Iowa.

Oh snap, Earl rampin' things up now mofos......

Am I a bad person for wishing the person that passed me on the interstate going 70 would end up in a ditch?

Not at all. I remember driving back home Christmas eve maybe in 08 and it was bad out. The left lane was the only lane clear on the hwy 5 bypass around Des Moines. Guy passed me and a couple others in the right lane. About 5 minutes later saw him off the road kind of underneath an overpass with his flashers on. I just kept right on driving.
