***Big 10 Thread***

Just going to throw down this marker....the B1G has a better record in the NCAA tournament this year than the B12. Just calling it now....

That's possible, especially by winning percentage. If the BIG only gets 4 or maybe 5 teams in and Purdue and MSU both make runs (Michigan could be very dangerous also) they'll look pretty good. The B12 doesn't offer any off nights, but I don't see a final four team, and maybe nothing beyond the S16. I still think Tech is the best team with a healthy Smith.

See, and I can understand looking at it from that point, but where do they have just a really good win? Lost to Duke, beat Carolina (who may fall out of top 25).
Losing to Duke is 100% forgivable, and even tOSU but I look at the rest of the schedule and nothing shines to me.
True...but they definitely have talent. We'll see....just think with all the scrutiny ect Izzo will make another run.

That's true most years.

Could be another Buddy Heald type run or they get knocked out first round.....wouldn't be surprised either way with them.

I just don't see it. Hield had a much stronger supporting cast compared to this years OU team. OU is still dangerous but they are very beatable.

Their performance against Bama in the challenge makes them a definite buyer beware proposition.

FWIW I said the same thing when they were one of the hottest teams in the country. Now there is enough film out there on how to slow down and frustrate Young. It really boils down to the other 4 players on the court being able to exploit the double team on Young.

What exactly is a "better record" in your mind? Cause they certainly won't have the same amount of teams we do, allowing for less losses overall no matter what. What qualifies as the B1G having a better record?

No. They probably only get 5 teams in. I was thinking winning percentage. If you look at Ken Pom right now the Big Ten has 3 teams in the top 15 and 2 in the top 6 and all three of those teams have top 25 offense and defense. I could see those 3 teams advancing pretty far. Where as, with the BIG 12 there are some lopsided teams where you have OU and TCU really good at offense and pretty bad defensively. Texas and Tech are good defensively and not so much offensively. I could see some of those teams getting knocked out early. Right now WVU is struggling. Of course, in a month things could look a lot different.

You think Nebrasketball is going to make the dance?

I don't think any of that is a reach at all.
I do know with those (3) B1G teams in the top 15 though, there has only been what 1 game played?
Seeing how tOSU plays against Purdue and MSU playing against Purdue will tell me a lot. I really like Purdue's, size, athleticism, and experience.

Agree with this.

I think MSU is talented enough to beat anyone in the country, but they seem to have slipped up here and there this year. Hard to say what team shows up for them, especially with what's going on with Coach Izzo.

As of right now , they would be in.

says, who? I haven't seen them projected in a single bracketology

They are on the bubble but if you look at what they are projected to finish at they would have 12 conference wins and would be around 50 or so in RPI and Ken Pom. That’s in. One of the last teams in but in.
