The score was 14-14 when that decision was made. You absolutely kick into the wind after half so you get it in the fourth quarter if it comes to a field goal (which it won’t at this point now).

That running into the kicker penalty was the turning point in this game. That was all they needed to shut this one down.

I also strongly disagree with this. You don't know if it will come down to a field goal, but you absolutely do know that will effect your kick-off and the impending field position game that is a Kirk Ferentz 3rd quarter.
