Didn't Iowa go 10-8 in conference play last year and not making the tournament? How can that be if you have a winning conference record? Also Fran has 2 tournament appearances not 3.

64-62... in the super-strong B1G... make reservations for Springfield

Does one of those 3 NCAA appearances include the play in game, that Iowa failed to play in to the tourney?

Orr built the program, brought excitement to the fanbase, and helped ensure success for future coaches.

Fran hasn't built anything, Iowa still struggles to get people to come to CHA (even with free pizza and ginger bobbleheads), and I can guarantee that when Fran leaves they'll go back to the Lickliter years.

yes...and only a hawkeye would dare troll a dead person...it's an integrity issue with your fan base in that you all have none.

Orr FTW!!!!!! Pretty sure this was the night we beat up on B1G Michigan.

What’s Kinnick’s conference record again? Is a losing conference record and one good year really worth naming a stadium over? What did you guys do to honor Cummings?

Kinnick won a Heisman and died serving his country in the prime of his life.

This stuff is pure entertainment. Good one about how Johnny Orr is still getting to Hawks even from the grave. Priceless.

I don’t think you are seeing reality. The places you listed offer several things that ISU doesn’t offer. A more storied tradition, huge fan bases, expanded recruiting pools. There are All things that are needed to compete for Conference Championships on a regular basis. You could say the same thing of those places over Iowa as well. This isn’t a knock on ISU, it is just reality.

Excellent points you make there. This is exactly why TCU should just accept that Patterson will no doubt leave TCU for Tennessee or some other such traditional power. Sure, TCU is doing good now, but their tradition is just not storied enough to keep a guy like him for much longer.

Is anyone else worried that Bryan is failing so miserably that boosters may not go the nepotism route when KF retires? I hope hawk fans appreciate their mediocrity, they’re looking at another Cummings/Laughtbur era soon. Maybe they’ll get lucky and it’s more like Nagel or Burns. Damn, a lot of bad coaches to choose from.

@YeahBuddy still thinks Brian is a great coach so I'm still confident he replaces Kirk.
