Can we talk about Nebraska?...

Even this morning the Omaha sports radio heads were dissing on ISU, calling them the trailer park team of college football. And yes, ISU certainly hasn't been even average the past several years, but there have been signs of improvement under Campbell. Look in the mirror Nebby...you play in the pedestrian BIG West...have beaten Arkansas State, Rutgers, and Illinois, and look to be solidly on-track for a losing record. Enjoy the BIG payday $'s.

Look at what Frost has done with UCF in two short seasons. He inherited an 0-12 program. Granted, building a Midwestern program is much different, but if Nebraska gets their man he may be able to tap into Florida recruiting.
No, he inherited a 0-12 team. They've had three 10+ win seasons since 2010. It's a good program with a lot of advantages in the AAC.

I'd be surprised if he left for NU. Another good year and he'll have elite programs after him.

That reminds me of Riley's Calibraska or Nebrafornia recruiting strategy. Saying that I think Scott Frost is a lot better of a coach than Riley is. IDK what their AD was thinking when they hired him. I still thought Nebraska was a goodish job at the time. I understand firing a 9 win coach isn't attractive for coaches, but they do play in the easiest football conference. Maybe it's pull isn't the same as it once was.

I actually think they should go the Paul Johnson route and reestablish themselves as a power option team. They lost their identity when they went away from that.

Nebraska may not be favored when they play @ Purdue in 3 weeks.

Tom Shatel a Husker write for the Omaha World Herald had this to say this morning.

Attention, Hank Bounds and Ronnie Green: One name you rarely hear when the nation’s top athletic directors are mentioned is Jamie Pollard at Iowa State. The week after ISU wins at Oklahoma seems like a good time to do it. Pollard’s basketball hires have kept the Cyclones near the top of the Big 12, and now his football coach, Matt Campbell, has the program trending up fast. And Pollard, a Wisconsin native, once worked at Wisconsin. We won’t hold that against him.

For this to happen it may get way worse first. Their offense is not at all ready to take on this type of offense- Riley has a pro style/west coast offense. Husker heads will fall off it they take on 3-4 win seasons during a switch to the triple option.

This quote is the best... NU went 9-3 their first two seasons in the B1G

"The Big Ten has been a hard adjustment for Nebraska, and a harder place to win than the Big 12, for one reason: the physicality factor."

What a cop out! NU went 9-3 their first two seasons in the B1G so to use "physical play" as an excuse is complete BS. There is a direct correlation to their fall off and the loss of Texas recruiting. Watching their program unravel is nothing short of entertaining.

Here was my favorite:

This is more about that point spread. That crazy stupid point spread for a Nebraska home game. The 24.5-point spread says the Huskers not only have no chance, they are likely going to get clobbered. At home.

The reaction that I hear from Nebraska fans is, “I’m going to put my farm on the Buckeyes to cover.”

When I say nothing surprises me anymore, well, this surprises me. You’re in a dangerous place, Nebraska.

Also look at MU and A$M.

The sad truth is NU was a dead-man walking. My future kids will be shocked when I tell them NU at one time was a power. I tend to forget myself.

Hey, if they want to try and justify losing by basically saying they're a bunch of p*ssies...fine by me. This just goes back to my OP...Nebraska fan is a broken man willing to reside in the middle of the B1G West. **** 'em...p*ssies...

Yeah...the Big 12 certainly looked physically disadvantaged relative to the Big Ten during that OU-tOSU game earlier this year...

I was kinda hoping Nebby would be slightly better this year so they had a chance to hang a L on the hoks. Probably won't happen. They are terrible.
Fusker fans probably can't believe their eyes as Ohio St. might ring up 50 on them--in Lincoln. 21-0 already early 2nd.

Holy Delusional Hayseeds-just listened to Husker football radio for the start of their game with Ohio State - they don't have a clue as to where they sit - or more appropriately - don't sit in the college football world. They referred to their game with OSU as a battle between two of the Titans of the CFB world.

Can a Titan lose a game by 40+ pts because that is what is going to happen tonight.
