Can we talk about Nebraska?...

Should never have got rid of Frank Solich. Or replaced him with Bill Callahan. Or moved to the Big 10. Series of disasters.
Can thank Tom Osborne's ego for those screw ups. He thought he was better than he was and couldn't help it when they couldnt use partial qualifiers of outside schools to get extra players. So he ran away.

I disagree with this completely. Nebraska lost their Texas and Oklahoma player pipeline by switching to the Big10. They had a history of winning, which made those players want to go to NU if they didn't go to UT or OU. THAT is what's caught up to them. And as we begin to win hopefully we can begin to steer players our direction from those states.

I'd 100% agree with this analysis. NU lost ties to their recruiting hotbeds for skill players by going to the Big. The kids watching the Big now don't know or remember NU as a FB program of prominence.

At the same time they could no longer pile up tons of big corn feds and see who developed by JR/SR years on the O & D lines.

On top of that they really didn't draw great conference schedule. And even the teams they are playing don't view them as a rival. Iowa does...but who really cares about Iowa?

HAHAHAHAHA Nebraska lost to Wisconsin. Not a surprise but it's fun to watch them lose.
The funny part is how they honored the 1997 NC team that night and all the superficial fans felt embarrassed about the product that played on the field in front of them. Blah blah blah we're not a power team anymore blah blah blah the pipeline is gone blah blah blah never should have left the Big 12.....

But but but..Texas is a bully!

Can't wait for Ohio State to hang 50 on em in Memorial Stadium

Yea, NU & ATM's pissed & moaned about UT...but BOTH of them were right there along side them voting for unequal payouts until the bitter end. Hell ATM's wanted & got bigger pieces of the quitters fees & then left for the SEC shortly after.

Sorry / not sorry for all of them. Hope the money was worth it...but honestly I can't say I miss NU at all. I only hate losing ATM as it was another Texas venue to visit to see ISU & I've got ATM buddies so that was fun to play them as well.

Yes. Anyone that thinks UT was the bad actor got played.

It took 25 minutes in to College Gameday's recap show to get to highlights/scores from a team from the Big 10 West. There was so little ESPN coverage of that division on Saturday that you would have thought all those games were on the B1G Network. I just had to triple-check the West standings this morning - Nebraska is still in 2nd place after that loss with a 3-3 overall record.

The only time Nebraska is going to be mentioned in the National conversation going forward will be head coaching searches, which will probably happen every 4-6 years.

Don't get me wrong, the Huskers will never be what they were but under Bo, they weren't nearly as bad off as they are now. He took his lumps against the good teams but he also won some big games . He was good enough for them to contend for the b1g west most years and they could find another coach that can do that, sadly, that's not enough for most of their fans. I don't see them getting out of this fire the AD, fire the coach cycle any time soon, regardless of who they hire.

Not to mention when Nebraska was in the Big 12 they were on over the air TV, usaually national every week. I live in the Omaha area and can't see most of their games because they are on the Big 10 network.

Want to get a really good laugh? Look at next year's schedule for the Bug Eaters.
Keep in mind this will probably be under a new coaching staff. I'm not sure there are more than 1 or 2 wins in there.

Look at what Frost has done with UCF in two short seasons. He inherited an 0-12 program. Granted, building a Midwestern program is much different, but if Nebraska gets their man he may be able to tap into Florida recruiting.

That reminds me of Riley's Calibraska or Nebrafornia recruiting strategy. Saying that I think Scott Frost is a lot better of a coach than Riley is. IDK what their AD was thinking when they hired him. I still thought Nebraska was a goodish job at the time. I understand firing a 9 win coach isn't attractive for coaches, but they do play in the easiest football conference. Maybe it's pull isn't the same as it once was.
