Rumor overhead about Louisville

Prohm and Fran...... lets see how good Prohm is without Fred's guys. Lets be honest. He is a good coach but ISU lost a ton of talent that Prohm had to "coach up". Fran on the other hand has been average to above average and has seen an uptick in recruiting lately. This could be the tipping point of basketball in the state. Will be interesting to see how much Prohm is going to improve off of last years team.

This is hilarious. Iowa fans were all saying this before last season too when ISU lost Niang, Nader, and McKay. How'd that work out for ya? ISU still went on to have a better year than Iowa, once again.

I do think there's a chance that Iowa has a better year this year than ISU, not a great chance, but a chance. However, even if they would happen to, I see it only lasting one year. 2 years from now, ISU will be VERY good again, way better than Iowa IMO.

I'd take one somewhat average year every decade or so versus what Iowa does..... one good year every decade.

I think ISU will be a top 25 team in 18-19.

He said 2 years from now so I assuming he is talking about 19-20.

But interested to see why you think ISU will be Top 25 and where you think Iowa will be next year only losing Uhl and adding Wieskamp.

You will also lose Cook and still not have a PG so I would expect bubble team

Well, here is some new Louisville news...and not good for the Cardinal backers...

Per the Courier-Journal newspaper...

http://www.courier-journal.com/stor...idas-tom-jurich-rick-pitinio-money/730771001/

To summarize...

AD Tom Jurich was the highest-paid athletic director in the country last year by a large amount. He earned $5.3 million, more than twice the $1.98 million paid to No. 2 on the list, Ohio State’s Gene Smith.

It gets worse. under the soon to expire Adidas contract, Rick Pitino was receiving 98 percent of the school’s payout. And keep in mind, Louisville athletics relies on university subsidies to stay afloat. In 2015-2016, Pitino received $1.5M while the athletic department received $25K.

Louisville's new contract with Adidas due to start in 2018, pays Louisville $160M over 10 years. This new contract is under university review for possible improprieties.

Nothing to see here.... Move on!! o_Oo_O

Derp.

In before you reference his "brothers" comments.

You don't think Cook is going pro after this year even though his brother from his hometown said he would? Do you not think Cook is good enough or he won't develop any?

I dont think Cook will be good enough after his sophomore year to go pro, no.

Did you hear about the uptick in recruiting?

95% of $160M = $152M. Would have been a nice payday. Sucks for him (and entertaining for us) that he got caught.

Iowa was the better team last year, as proven on the court

Yeah, and the year ISU beat Iowa in Kinnick and was their only loss of the season, and Iowa went on to go to the Orange Bowl.... you'd agree that ISU was the better football team that year than Iowa was too, right? I wouldn't, but using your logic, you would.

ISU ended up being the better basketball team last year than Iowa, that's not really even in doubt. We all know who was the better team at Carver that night too, but ISU came in WAY too overconfident, arrogant, and cocky like idiots, and deserved to lose to a motivated Iowa team playing against the best team in the state.

If I had to wager my house this year, I'd say Iowa will have a better year than ISU, however, I never will doubt Fran to screw it up for Iowa somehow and ISU still ends up having a better year.

But I think by next season, '18-'19 season, ISU will again be the better team, and by '19-'20 ISU will be SCARY good if Wigginton is still here. So this year is Iowa's small little window for them to finally surpass ISU in men's basketball, because it will close up again after this season.
