ISU opens -9.5 over Akron

You'll be right eventually.
I said we would score 38 on Saturday, and I was right about that. I just didn't think we would forget how to tackle and the hoks would get away with 100 holding penalties so they scored more than I thought.

It'd help, too, if ISU could schedule "worse" for the non-Iowa FBS opponent, too, at home, vs. C-USA/Sun Belt bottom-feeders. It's probably not possible to drop these 2-for-1 contracts entirely, just move in an easier direction until we establish consistent bowl appearances.

I doubt UNI game will be dropped completely, likely to continue on every-other-year basis, but that off-year FCS should be as cake-y as possible.

We schedule teams 5-6 years in advance, sometimes more. It's impossible to know how good they will be. When we scheduled NDSU, they weren't very good.

Really would like this week to go fast.

Put the Iowa game behind us and get the taste of winning back for the bye week will hype up the Texas game.

What defense are you guys watching? This is going to be a nail biter.

We can't get any pass rush from our front four, and when Kamari is out of the game the drop off in the secondary is significant. Iowa isn't that good. Penn State is. The score will end up being somewhere around 45-42

The secondary is definitely "off". I'm not sure what the issue is there, but that needs to be rectified quickly. The DL is a new group and they've faced two very good OL's in the first 2 weeks. We've seen flashes of brilliance from them. They'll continue to improve throughout the year.

As for your score prediction, we won't give up more than 3 TD's to Akron. I could see them getting 24 or 27 points, but not more than that.

I want to see Park and our receivers get a workout throwing deep and stacking PI calls against Akron over and over. Get up some confidence so we can get away from 4 yard outlet passes.
