I think CMC is going to be a big time coach after he leaves ISU and we clearly have the better OC. I know KF is more accomplished because he's so old.
Well you did also say Paul Rhoads > Kirk Ferentz at one point as well, so we all understand it is just a troll opinion.
Great article by Docherman and spot on.
You're seriously using a homer opinion piece from a Hawkeye website to prove somehing on this thread? Good grief, have you a brain left in that skull?
I can't remember the last time Iowa fans and media were so scared going into this game. Wilting that homer piece on the Monday before the game? Wow!
What are you talking about? This game makes me nervous every year (outside last year, that was always going to be a ass whipping). The way Mac, Rhoads and now CMC have stressed this games makes it a tough game for Iowa to win.
How does CMC stress this game?
ISU was a completely different team from early last year to late last year/now. Our weak spots are visibly getting better. Our strong points are still strong. Last year, we lost to a garbage UNI team. This year, we handily beat a better UNI team (or, at least I thought they were better. They underachieved pretty bad last year).
UI hasn't gotten noticeably better or achieved higher in... Well, years. There was the 12-0 season, and then a bunch of similar seasons that all blur together. Same story every year: average-to-good season, 7-9 wins, get f***ing a**blown in a bowl game, come back next year with basically the same team and same weaknesses as the year before.
One team's staff is showing noticeable improvement in the short term. The other staff maintains the status quo and doesn't change much, good or bad. Which one sounds better to you, the stale team or the improving team? Personally, I'll take improvement when I can get it.
He said he has been stressing it a long time.
Certainly, you understand how much harder it is to get from 7-9 wins per year to 9-11 wins per year than it is to go from bottom feeder to average?
Elevating ISU from a perennial 3-4 win team to a 6 win team doesn't mean CMC is the superior coach.
That is like saying a kid who goes from D- average to a C average is a better student than a kid who consistently pulls B's.
Is the kid pulling B's taking much easier classes than the C student?
Is the kid pulling B's taking much easier classes than the C student?
No, Class rankings has the course load about equal most years.
