OK - who wins the game on Sept. 9th ?

You are betting on hope. There is nothing factual at all that says Fant is better than Allen.

Literally that's you hoping it. Have you seen Allen in person? Or Fant? Did Fant show you enough to think he'll be better?

You see, this is full of clone logic. Iowa fans say, you know what I think Stanley will be better than Park. ISU fans say you cant say that because Stanley has not played and there is no way of knowing that to be true.....

Then you go and post the exact thing Iowa fans are saying about the QBs with the TEs and get mad when Iowa fans use the Clone logic....

So please tell me which way fits for you guys today. This board is all over the place.

Why stop there? By Hawk logic, ISU fans should also take credit for Adam Haluska getting drafted.

You could claim that, Just as Iowa can say 3 of the last 4 QBs that STARTED for Iowa have been drafted into the NFL...... It is not a dumb claim, it is the facts.

Rudock played pretty well his RS junior year, but seemed to lack confidence. Knowing CJ was going play and Jake wasn't going to be the full-time guy probably didn't help.

I'm not sure Rudock being beaten out was the reason for the move. Going to into the bowl game people were openly talking about Beathard being the one to transfer. As rumored on Hawkeye message boards many felt Beathard threatened to transfer if he wasn't given the starting job.

What exactly does that have to do with anything? Rudock was beat out according to reasons that everyone speculates on. Not a good thrower under pressure was the main one. Not as good at reading routes is another. Beathard saying he will leave unless he is the starter seemed like a good move to me considering he won 20 games over a 2 year period. Rudock did not do that.....

You are grasping at straws when in reality Iowa has had 3 of their last 4 starters get drafted. That is a factual statement.

I'm just adding context to that. Harbaugh and Michigan deserve the credit for Rudock being drafted.

Please show me where I have said anything about Stanley in comparison to Park. I'll wait.

Did Rudock have better stats at Michigan than at Iowa? I haven't personally looked.

Most importantly, I'm still trying to figure out why we're arguing about a bunch of NFL washouts.

Yes, Fant showed plenty last year. If you watched every game 2 or 3 times like I do (at Kinnick then at home again at least once sometimes twice) it was easy to see the potential there.

He was behind blocking wise, which is understandable as a true Fr. He is gonna be playing a ton of snaps, he is Iowa's #1 TE in a TE heavy offense.

Now if I was to say Hockenson > Allen that is based on hope. He is Iowa's #2 TE, but I haven't seen him play outside of spring and kids day.

Didn't he have only like 90 receiving yards?

Park produced last year, Fant didn't. That's the difference

I'm on mobile so I can't link but it looks like Ruddock had the following:

Year, yards, rating
2013, 2383, 126.5
2014, 2436, 133.5
2015, 3019, 141.5 (at Michigan)
Got these from ESPN. It was kind of weird because they had him listed at Michigan all years.

Looking at this, I don't see any way another ~2,500 yard season with Iowa gets him drafted. Picked up as a FA, maybe, but not drafted.

Beathard went from throwing for 2809 yards in 2015 to 1929 in 2016 and was drafted in the 3rd round.

I dont see that playing much in the decision making process of an NFL GM.

Yikes. QB's continue to regress under Kilmer in college that's for sure!
