Iowa Football Recruiting

I don't necessarily agree; I think iowa still wins. However, I find it very interesting that in none of these discussions....does the team discipline get brought up.

ISU was one of the more penalised teams in the country last year

During the Iowa game last year they had double the number of penalties called on them for over double the number of yards. Heck, I think at least three of those negated big first downs.

Until ISU can effectively teach its OLine that they can't try and catch passes, it's going to be a struggle

Yeah that's not true at all

It looks like ISU finished middle of the pack in FBS in penalties per game last year but they did have 10 against Iowa so your point stands.

Speaking of the Iowa v. ISU game. I am excited for that one. Should be a good one again. Could be similar to the Steele Jantz year. I see it being an exciting game that goes down to the wire.

ISU will win by at least two touchdowns. The primary reason is a relatively inexperienced QB in a new offense. Anyone who thinks you can change coordinators and all will run smooth by the second game is crazy. Iowa will have their hands full with Wyoming.

Anybody thinking ISU will win this game by 2 TD's is crazy. ISU will have their hands full with Iowa's rushing attack.

It isnt like life will be terribly difficult for the Iowa QB in Ames because they will have to put 8-9 guys in the box. If they choose not to, ISU defenders will be seeing the back of #25 in white a lot.

The key for the game will be how the Iowa offense does on 1st down. If they are routinely getting 5-6 yards a play on 1st down, it should be a long day for the ISU defense.

If ISU can consistently hold them to 3 yards or less, the Iowa QB's job gets substantially more difficult.

Is #25 that tiny RB you have or the Nevada kid?

They'll definitely be firing off the ball

I hope it's a better game than last year. I still think Iowa wins.
Agreed. I dont care how much of an advantage we have at the skill positions. Games come down to line play and they have a distinct advantage on both sides.

We won't be able to run on them (we never can) and I'm worried about keeping Park out from under pressure. Even great qbs like Brady struggle under pressure. We are a year away on the lines. I like our chances next year, however.

Thank you, this is what I've been saying for months but people keep calling me delusional.

Inexperience is overrated. Their are new QBs every year that are good from the get-go. Now, could it be a factor, sure, but probably not much of one. I think a bigger factor will be whether the QB is any good or not.
Also, I think you are overstating the change in coordinators. It isn't like they are going from pro-style to spread. They aren't changing the running game. They are only changing what they are doing in the passing game. So really not that many changes.
And if Iowa has their hands full with Wyoming, that is a huge problem. It either means, Iowa will win maybe 2 games all year or it means they just played a horrendous game.
