Depends on the powder, and his portions would be a good question for him.
If he's just doing casual exercise, protein powders are usually too big a portion in general, just like Gatorade. He needs to be pretty intense for that stuff to really be beneficial.
As someone who has dealt with a lot of sweaty people on RAGBRAI, I want nothing to do with seat salt on my chips.Kettle Cooked seat salt & vinegar.
@BoxsterCy has done a fine job of shaming my lack of cycling miles so I went for a ride to and through the park last night. The big north loop was closed because of trail maintenance which meant I had to take the shorter south loop which is normally busier and was busier still due to the north loop closure. This all results in a Velo cycling rant.
If you go out summer cross country skiing with a dozen of you closest teenage friends do not ski three abreast taking up the whole width of the trail into blind curves.
If you summer cross country ski three abreast and you see oncoming traffic move over for the oncoming traffic.
If you move over for oncoming traffic give the oncoming traffic more than 2 feet of the trail.
Good grief, the amount of trail these ladies gave me wasn't much more than the width of my handlebars and than wasn't even taking into account the ski poles that were flailing about everywhere. Of course I did a figure 8 through the trails so I got to encounter this group twice and doubly enjoy their lack of trail awareness.
End rant/
All in all a good night on the bike. Did an estimated 19 miles in 62 minutes. The Boxster HeadwindTM kicked up for the final stretch home and final climb to make sure I was good and tired by the time I got home.
Mrs. Velo and I discussed this very thing when I mentioned this encounter. Those skiiers make Mrs. Velo very nervous.I am picturing a ski pole through the spokes like the scene in Breaking Away where the guy puts the the tire pump through the kids spokes.
I biked 20 last night on the winding lake paths but it took me 1:30. Saw one corgi, not Riley. Had one disc brake test for the gal looking to step out right in front of me with her black lab. The wind on the north side of Calhoun was kicking...I went suddenly from 15 mph to 10 mph like I had put the brakes on. The fact the younger gal I had been biking behind did not just plow through that wind made me feel a little better.
Mini rant: The Teddy Wirth dirt trail bikers that come flying out of the woods and spill off onto the paved through path. Or just congregate in a group blocking the path entirely. Huge percentage of self absorbed dicks with no situational awareness. For safety I just assume all of them are idiots when I bike that one mile stretch.
so, fixing up stuff around the house before partay, there is a spot on the patio (concrete) that is like, chipped. I wish I had a picture cause that would be a better description than what I'm about to attempt. I think the downspout runs underneath it cause I can see...packing material like bubble wrap? Around the spout going into and under the patio and then out about a foot, there is a bit of the patio like, chipped off and some of that packing material sticking through. Maybe we have to get the builder to fix it but is there some easy kind of patch repair that we could do? It's a spot maybe 2 sq inches big so it's not very big.
I should have asked Dh about this, he probably knows what is going on better but we have some handy people here who may have insight.
Cool Ranch Doritos and Sun chips. But especially those Doritos.
We buy them once in a blue moon because there is no self control.
What party? Where was my invite?
Dammit CG, you've gone and made this all awkward for the rest of us.

I am not really a fan but I will eat them. The rest of the family DO NOT LIKE so when we get the box of mini bags of chips I end up packing those in my lunches or they won't ever get eaten.I feel like I'm the only person that hates these. Plus, one chip and I have instant dragon breath.
He got on the protein powder kick because he's 59 and read that old people don't get enough protein. Frankly, I think he gets plenty with what I cook. Plus, when my kids were trying to help me to gain weight, they had me downing protein powder with the weight work. Husband exercises an hour and a half every day, exercise bike and Nordic track. He walks the dog about 20 miles a week. I think he needs to add weight work if he wants to be having all this protein powder but I don't really know.
The result of my boys getting me on the protein powder: I net gained four pounds over six months and went down a dress size. But my arms look better. Before my next checkup, I guess I need to consume large bags of chips and protein powder without weight work.
He probably gets enough without the powder, but that's some nice exercise.
Maybe he should sit down and measure out what he eats to see what he really needs?
I put new belt drive garage door openers on the last few nights. Of course the sensor things on MrsWx's side keep getting out of alignment so I get to play with those tonight!
Stayed home this morning with LittleWx so MrsWx could open the daycare. Dude was up and ready to play at 5AM.
Airventure made a big announcement. A formation flight of a B-1, B-2 and B-52 followed by two B-29s (first time in decades we have had two together), B-17s, B-25s and an A-20!!!!
Also could be an interesting day as the Quad Cities NWS is basically down for the count as they move to a new building. Radar and weather radio are out of service and we have a "enhanced" severe weather risk.
I was wondering what the problem was.
This describes me to a T. Well except for the 6' thing. I used to be 6' but "the man keeping me down" has resulted in me losing 3/4 of an inch. I probably need to find myself some of those '80s gravity boots.Probably. And even with the extra ten pounds he's not exactly fat. Six feet and 180, but his legs are really muscular (probably a result of his exercise choices). He just isn't happy about the extra 10 pounds. I told him doctor is afraid I will be shrinking old lady, that's probably worse than ten extra pounds.
